I know many dont like it but there are many that do and this is for them.
Anyone watch The Great American Bash? If so, what did you think?
Letters (TPFKA WWTL@WHL) - July 24, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
I'm not ever so convinced it's a sport.
;)
Cripps - July 24, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
Its more Sports Entertainment. Thats what they call themselves.

Most people call them 'Bigs Girls Blousses' don't they????
Cripps - July 24, 2006 03:22 PM (GMT)
Not to their faces i imagine
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 24, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
Since Smackdown isn't shown on Sky One anymore and I don't have Sky Sports, I have to keep up with the website and I watch the videos they show.
Tads - July 24, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
I sky plussed it and watched it this afternoon. Disappointed to be honest. Khali is clearly a gimmick/miles off being ready to being able to compete. Kennedy's blood loss looked brutal and Jillian Hall's boob fell out when the camera wasn't on her! Think JBL is the best commentator they have by far.
Cripps - July 24, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
It wasnt anything special.
Glad Rey isnt the champ anymore and i knew Chavo was going to hit him as soon as he said hes going to make dreams come true.
JBL is quality as a commentator but i cant see him doing it for too long.
Khali wont last long i feel.
northbankgunner - July 24, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
Pissed off that Khali did not fight. That was what I was looking forward to. The rest was OK though. It was obvious that Chavo was going to double cross Rey though.
I do love JBLs rants. He has no clue where he is going, but still continues :haha:
Cripps - July 24, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
They have mentioned Farooq a few times recently. Might see him come back and start a feud with JBL.
The Diva search contestants are pretty poor. Chrissy who won the first one is long gone, Ashley isnt doing anything worthwhile and i cant see any of the new ones making an impact. The fact the crowd booed all of them says it all.
Grimandi's Perm - July 25, 2006 08:16 AM (GMT)
I can't say I agree about Rey, Cripps. I like him MUCH more than I like that twat Booker.
Still, SmackDown in general is pretty poor these days. It isn't half the show Raw is.

Stephanie McMahon has given birth.
McNamara That Ghost... - July 25, 2006 12:25 PM (GMT)
Aurora Rose Levesque.
A non pretentious first name them.
Levesque can be excused seeing as that is Triple H's surname. :D
Cripps - July 25, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)
Future Womens World Champion. You heard it here first.
Just hope she doesnt get Triple Hs nose.
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 25, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
I hope Kane beats Big Show tonight, but knowing what the WWE script writers are like, they'll find some "brilliant" way to screw him.
northbankgunner - July 25, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
There isn't wrestling on tonight is there?? Not on SkySports anyways

So where is this happening??
Also I happened to be watching TNA today, and Sabu, the wrestler from ECW was wrestling there.
I did not know wrestlers were allowed to fight in more than one corporation. Are ECW and TNA connected in anyway?
Cripps - July 25, 2006 11:38 PM (GMT)
ECW is a part of WWE now and they have suspended Sabu and RVD for a month or so.
Why hes on TNA, i dont know.
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 25, 2006 11:39 PM (GMT)
Kane vs Big Show for ECW Championship is on tonight. On ECW. ;)
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 26, 2006 08:48 AM (GMT)
Oh what a shocker, Kane got screwed as he was about to win. I never saw that one coming...

I think the WWE on the whole kinda blows ass at the moment. It’s always gone through peaks and troughs and we seem to be on a major trough at the moment.
I agree with the above Smackdown has never been as good as raw (Even when it was all about the Rock) but what’s making it so bad at the moment is that the actual matches are rubbish. Normally if the storylines are crap the matches improve and vice versa but it’s all a bit shoddy at the moment. I appreciate that the roster is half empty but there are too many bit part wrestlers doing main events. Finlay? Bobby Lashley?? Regal? Booker T?
Ten tips from me to Vince:
1. Sack the Undertaker/ - using him just at pay per views is insulting to him and us.
2. Shut the big show up – Can’t talk on the mike has as much personality as Steve Davis.
3. Stop doing the same old shit – we have seen it all before and it wasn’t good the first time around
4. Get rid of Velocity, Heat, Afterburn, Experience etc…overkill is bad.
5. Bring back a “Franchise player” you are a billionaire for fucks sake, spend some of it.
6. DO NOT under any circumstances bring Hulk Hogan back……the guy is older than time itself and quite frankly is a shithead.
7. Sack Rik Flair – come on? We are sick of him, he is shit and his matches have been the same for the last 25 years
8. There are a lot of popular guys that have been released? Yet we have unpopular people here?? Just swap.
9. Midgets aren’t funny, so stop using them.
10. When wrestlers are fighting themselves at pay per views we have descended back into the quagmire of the early 90’s and its time for a change.
That is all.
P.s (Women’s wrestling is shit and no-one likes it so get rid of that and all the associated scattered ass as well)

Pretty much agree with all of that. But I have a feeling that nothing is going to change for the forseeable future.
Flava Flav - July 26, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)
Thanks, I might email Vince and Shane and tell them to sort it.
I was trying to remember the last time I really, really enjoyed it and went out of my way not to miss anything??? It was the WCW/ECW invasion……

You definately should.......
The last time I enjoyed WWE was when DX came back, and the pranks they pulled etc which made it enjoyable to watch
Cripps - July 26, 2006 12:47 PM (GMT)
The Invasion was brilliant although could have been better if WCWs and ECWs big wrestlers were involved.
Goldberg, Sting, Sandman etc.
I enjoy the Raw V Smackdown feuds as well
Flava Flav - July 26, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
The best thing about it was, you really really didn’t know what was coming next. It was well written as it started with a little snippet and grew into a WWE wide storyline. Yeah it was a shame that the sandman and sting etc weren’t involved but I think Vince was having trouble with the contracts and with too many ego’s.
Who can ever forget the start to raw when it was Vince stood watching WCW on a TV and then turning to the camera and saying “I have just bought WCW……..I now own the competition” and laughing maniacally like only he can
Then came all the old fav’s Kenyon, Diamond Dallas Page, Polumbo, O’hare…..then the NOW of Hogan, Hall and Nash…..
Since then it’s just gone downhill.

Im pretty sure Vince did that when he said he had signed up NWO although im not sure.
Shane coming on the titantron and saying he had taken over WCW whilst standing in a WCW ring and therefore screwing Vince. That was great.
Flava Flav - July 26, 2006 01:46 PM (GMT)
This is quite sad but I actually cheered at a bit in it. Jericho, Kane and a few randoms were fighting a few “rebels” in the ring and a load of WWE superstars ran down to help……….but they then stopped and turned on the WWE guys and when you looked it was all the old ECW lot……….brilliant.
D’VON………Get the tables….
Flava Flav - July 26, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
(You have set me off now.) Speaking about how its going back to the early 90’s…….have you noticed that “Gimmick wrestling” seems to be re-appearing?
I give you;
“The pit bulls” I can’t say that without feeling ashamed for them. (noble was better as a hick)
Umanga?
Eugene (Another cringe-worthy bit)
Little Finley??
Kane fighting himself?
Tatanka? (another joke)

BROCK LESNAR SHOULD RETURN
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 27, 2006 09:09 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Lesnar was a potential franchise star.
He did have a meeting with Vince about returning this year, but nothing was ever signed.
They should bring Goldberg back too IMO.
Flava Flav - July 27, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
is he still playing american football? (Lesnar i mean)??
Oh and he wasnt a franchise star sorry because he couldnt use the mike properly
Cripps - July 27, 2006 08:10 PM (GMT)
Speaking of American football and wrestling, whatever happened to the XFL?
northbankgunner - July 27, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
Lesnar was bloody good. Goldberg does films now doesn't he? He was in The Longest Yard with Steve Austin.
Also has anybody heard of the film Welcome to the Jungle with the Rock in it? If so can they tell me why Vince McMahon was executive producer?
