With GB suffering yet more humiliation in their Davis cup games Jeremy Bates has resigned as captain.

US Open is a few weeks away. Can anyone see past Federer?

Song Billongs Here - July 24, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
Nope.

northbankgunner - July 24, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)

 Give the guy a break Cripps - 19 years old and he beats arguably the best tennis player of all time to end a MASSIVE winning streak.

It's probably that touch of arrogance that was lacking in Henman for all those years and why he never really produced the goods.

i can.

Rafael Nadal or my favourite Mario Ancic.

Ancic is injured. Freak accident while jet skiing. Tore some ligaments, so he's 80% out of the US Open. Even if he recovers he won't be at his best.

Federer is surely the hot favourite, I don't belive Nadal's got what it takes on hard courts, clay yes, but on hard court at US Open, 4th round is as far as he'll get.

Apart Federer, I can see only two players seriously competing for the title. Nalbanidian if he decides he wants to play or mess around and Ljubicic if he overcomes his "Federer complex" (lost to him in 5 or 6 tournament finals in the past two seasons).

Roddick, Hewitt, Safin.... hardly, they were at their best few seasons ago. But...you can never write them off.

northbankgunner - August 17, 2006 01:58 PM (GMT)
Brilliant result for Murray beating Federer, but it must be said that Federer was nowhere near his best, stil I'd take it if I were Murray

Well to be fair to Murray you could look at it this way: he was so good that he put Federer off his game. ;)

It's a brilliant result for the young lad, especially in straight sets. :D

I miss Kournakova.. sure she may have been shit at tennis, but made up for it by being incredibly hot.

Sharapova is the hottest at the moment IMO

Cripps - August 23, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
Henman v Rusedski in the first round of the US open

It gets better. The winner faces Federer unless he lose his first round which he wont.

Wooo. Go Sharapova  :D

Cripps - September 10, 2006 10:25 PM (GMT)
1 set all and on break in the third

Cripps - September 10, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
Its a great final and fair play to Roddick who is standing toe to toe with the great man but you feel Roddick needs to win this set to stand a chance. He loses this and he will lose all confidence.

Cripps - September 10, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
Federer breaks and wins the set 7-5.

Roddick was at his best in this set and he still didnt win. Federer is just too damn good.
