I support Chicago Bears. Anyone else watch NFL?
northbankgunner - July 26, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)

Funnily enough, I've been a 49ers fan since the early nineties. :D

Ive tried watching it, i really have but i just dont get it.
bkyler - July 29, 2006 03:59 AM (GMT)
woooo a thread I can totally contribute to! finally!!!
I've loved the Titans since the days of Eddie George and McNair (what a heartbreaker against stupid Kurt Warner and the Rams) and now Vince Young and LenDale White have been signed so I'm an even bigger fan.
Part of my heart lies in the Cowboys though (come'on who didn't love them back in the day) and since I was born in New york, I've liked the Giants too (Eli Manning will be amazing one day).
I also play pigskin in school. Oh yeah go Chargers!!
haha I got really excited about this post for some reason
Adebayorkies For Life... - July 29, 2006 10:03 AM (GMT)
Ah, but will Eli be as good as Peyton? ;)
Speaking of Titans, have you seen the film Remember The Titans? It actually makes me quite emotional. I've got that and Friday Night Lights on DVD.
bkyler - July 30, 2006 05:57 AM (GMT)
I love Remember the Titans. One of my favorite movies.
Friday night lights didn't really compare to RTT.
talking about the Mannings, maybe Eli can be the first one to break the curse and go to a Super Bowl unlike his brother who always falls a step short
Gallas The Gooner - July 30, 2006 11:28 AM (GMT)

I love Amercain Football (my second fav sport after of course Football :D ). I am a Giants fan. Did anyone watch the opening game on Thursday night (or friday morn over here)? The Steelers Defense were just outstanding.
Gary the Gooner - October 8, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
I follow CFL. It is not of the same standard, but the game itself is more exciting with higher scoring. Also the Grey Cup Final is also usually an exciting game whereas the Super Bowl normally tends to be a complete blow-out by the end of the first half.

Jens' Face - January 22, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
bears and colts -- two teams that haven't been in a while -- first teams ever with black coaches to make it to the super bowl

it feels good to be able to correct some foreigner's sports terminology (after all the soccer jibes I've suffered)
the bears game
the bears match would be a token you picked up at Soldier's Field to light your cigarette or something

He does say game in fairness on a different post.

yeah, but Maccy, you've got to understand how I long to be the native expert on something here.
it is an interesting phenomenon, growing up with some given sport in your blood or not. Here in the States, I often enjoy talking about soccer to Brits who admit that they have not the slightest interest in it more than Americans who follow it with some amount of interest. Because the Brits have grown up in a culture that is just steeped in soccer and know it instinctively. (It doesn't hurt my interest in the conversation that the Brits who don't actually care about soccer tend to be women.)

Gallas The Gooner - August 12, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Madden 08 is out in America on August 14 isn't it?. We have to wait until August 31 for it to come out :(
Bears won a pre season game @ the Texans last night.
