ooooooooooo tough one cos so many good dogs important at their time for different reasons. !! ursus for the strength he put into lines and for all the important progeny he produced, rikkor for shortening up the dogs that were getting longer and longer at a time it was needed.
I also like nero norbachtal a yummy male (sp) , gawd there are so many! nando in modern times for giving legth and forehands back to lines lacking them! and quenn quenn quenn rofl , I adore this dog probably my fav contemporay dog. (even thought he wouldn't be suited to my girl)

Tina - January 7, 2009 08:40 PM (GMT)
can I just add that Nando and Nero are Yello offspring??
(allthough Nero (hmm son of Enzo, not Yello right.... :hammer:) had an elbow thingy didn't he? But a magnificent boy)

fda - January 7, 2009 08:57 PM (GMT)
yes he did tina sadly :(
I love yello too and I think nando is deffo father typical dont ya think .. In think like yello he is producing good typey stock! in some ways I think with the potential to be better than themselves if ya get what mean . . I want to use something from nando or that line on my girl to give her pups length , a better forhand and she doesn't need any mmoe angulation in the rear and I think thats a huge plus for that line they have so much to offer lines that have a tnedency for over angulated rears . No way could you ever call nando over angulated x
Their is a nando son I really love ..begins with W but cant think right now, i'll go find him on database and be right back . He is so typical of yello and nando .. I'd love to see him in the flesh.

fda - January 7, 2009 09:00 PM (GMT)
This is the fella , i love him!

Tina - January 7, 2009 09:10 PM (GMT)
Aw yes he is gorgeous

I'm more into Tiras (smaller, more working type) than Nando - but both excellent Yello :yello: sons

I'm not really clued up on the showing side of GSDs but 2 dogs that have really caught my eye lately are Zane ( I believe he is Sues dog, sorry havent got used to who belongs to who yet!) and another is Antilli Bravos. Both extremely nice looking dogs.

Wildmoor - January 10, 2009 11:50 PM (GMT)
A good dog of the 90's was Lothar von haus Boombos, known for producing good hips in progeny the majority under 10, a couple 10-15 and 1 at 21. He also produced some excellent working progeny in both civilian dogs and police/prison dogs.

flyhart - January 11, 2009 08:49 AM (GMT)
Have you got any pics of him Pam ?

I believe i have a pic of sorts of Lothar somewhere, i will see if i can find it, i used him on one litter, and i noticed that the progeny were keen and very confident.

I love Vagus and Mentos, he produces dogs capable of working

Moobli - February 19, 2009 07:33 PM (GMT)
My type will be quite different than most of yours as my show dog knowledge is very limited.

For power, presence and working ability these males took my breath away when I saw them working a few years ago.

And a dog who sired many wonderful working dogs

And for sheer beauty (and brains!) I love ...

And my boy's father ....

Hi Moobli

I really like Xatoh too - one of my favs as well.

Here is one of xatoh's sons - he looks nice, doesn't he?
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/506757.html

If I'm really lucky I the pup I'm getting may have an Atom or Xatoh granddaddy!

Moobli - March 4, 2009 02:31 PM (GMT)
He is very nice  (Looks quite like your boy Cox).

Have you seen Xatoh working in the flesh? AMAZING dog!

skilaki - March 5, 2009 08:59 AM (GMT)
Hi Moobli

No I haven't seen him working in the flesh - just love his pic and lines. Do you know who owns him? And is he still being used at stud?

Pauline Nye owns him (or did when I saw him working). It might be worth contacting her to find out whether he is still being used at stud.
