Title: Tony and jewels new job!

souffle - September 27, 2009 06:26 PM (GMT)
I have just come back from training club today and I know how you all like a new bit of juicy gossip.
I came out of the clubhouse today to find Tony AKA Studly surrounded by puppies.
On enquiring I found that they were queueing up to have their testicles felt by Uncle Tony and Auntie Jewels.
I think they should be renamed the testicle team!
(Sorry they are doing a fab and very necessary job but it was funny)

Yup got to agree it was a funny sight and some of the pups were getting a bit frisky lmao but in all seriousness, they were doing a very important service for the new puppy owners in checking their entirity as a rescinded testicle can cause serious problems.
I think they did a splendid job and should be commended for taking the initiative to help new puppy owners aware of a very important check for there puppies.

Well done to Studley and Jewels :D

Absolutly agree Foxy. So many owners are not aware of the dangers of an undesended testicle in a male. Tony was very gentle and they were all very clear about the importance of waiting till at least 1 year old to give it a chance to drop but after that an op would be essential to eliminate the cancer risk.
I'm sure Tony and Jewels will be doing regular checks on the pups who are not quite there yet in the 'letting it all hang out league!'
We are very greatful to them for doing this and also getting them used to being examined too!

well done lynn... you were deffo on the ball there lmao and the pups were really enjoying themselves lol

testical checking is very important and puppy owners should always be aware of undescended testicals and the dangers involved especially in later life when the majority of them left in the groin or abdomen will turn cancerous and a minor operation at 12 months old to castrate and remove the testicals is better then a major operation in later life.

spoony will be sad that you didn't get any photos for her to see!!

Nice one Lynne, does that mean we are the ball inspectors now, lmao.

The next inspection will be on puppy teeth and ears

I must admit how annoyed i get when i find out that some people are sold puppies and the breeders do not tell them about undecended testicles, most pet owners do not know to check for this when looking at a perspective purchase and trust that the breeder has done neccessary health checks etc on the puppy before purchasing it.

Thankfully most breeders do tell perspective buyers of health issues with puppies, and it would be great if perspective buyers could be made aware of things to look for when looking at purchasing a puppy,

The other thing to remember is this type of thing can happen to any breed of dog and other animals in general.
