Description: lol

well as u know I did sign in for the obedience competition... and all I can think about is... "gosj..hope we dont make a fool of our self"... and every night before I finally can sleep...I go over, and over, and over the competition in my head... I really need to put that on side... it still is a few weeks till we will enter.

Any suggestion how to relax and dont think so much about it? I will go nuts long before we are there... lol

Gosh I dont know, I think I would be a nervous wreck too! lol Sorry Im not much help am I?

If Im really stressed about things (usually overload at work) I normally break them down into sizable chunks and work through one thing at a time until I am happy & confident, then put it to one side and go onto the next thing. Perhaps you could do this too and break the routine down into chunks and work on one thing at a time to build your confidence, rather than worrying about the whole thing.

Either that or drink lots of alcohol every night, that should help you sleep lmao

Thanks...will try..lol

You will just have to try and convince yourself that this competition is no big deal and don't care if you make a fool of yourself. If you go in with that attitude you will do just fine. If you go in worrying about making a fool of yourself then you will be nervous, Heidi will pick up your nerves and it will all fall apart because she will be wondering what on earth is wrong with my mum.

Treat it as a training session as best you can and you will be fab!

I agree with Julie, treat it as a training session, if you don't get anywhere it will be experience so don't let the pressure get to you

Thanks...so many have told me this.

It will def be a training session..cause it is the first time we start in a bigger show... the past have been just small shows with just known faces in my dogclub.

I have been thinking about given Heidi some days off without training for the comp.. just enjoy our self with walks in the forest... and also let her and Laban have a great time running, playing and tire me out.. lol

I agree, treat it as a training session, otherwise you will tense up, the dog will notice it and you will both make silly mistakes that you have never made before, plus if you keep calm it will be over before you know it, good luck anyway and let us know how well you did :D

I have given her a couple of days off training obedience... then I relaxed also...
tokk her out for a training session today and she was so high...lol.. and she did anything to please me... I know now that I wont train her two days before the comp day... and then I hope I will relax better too :friends:
