The "Limited-Time Quests" Procedure...

“Ma Chao’s Iron Spear (鉄槍)” Update Event
(Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 @ 15:00 JST ~ Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 @ 12:00 JST)

焦熱の大地 − Burning Earth (Rank: C)

Obtain This Quest from: 文官 (Quest NPC)
Amount of Player Needed: 1 Player

Domestic Affairs Values' Awards: 流通 +8, 軍事 +8, 治安 +8

Awards:
炎玉x4、極炎玉x3、龍神鱗x4、鎮火符x3
(Fire Orb x4, X-Fire Orb x3, “Rain” Starter x4, Fire Cloak x3)

Procedures:
  • The quest time limit is 15 minutes (Actual time limit is 14:56 minutes, since it also count the battlefield intro screen).
  • This quest uses the fortress map (河港).
  • The task is to defeat all officers and bases that cause the fire at the center of the map. In this quest, you must watch your HP bar as fire reduce your HP constantly!
  • You will start at the northeast center of the map. Fire is already set up at the starting of the quest.
  • First, defeat the officer at the northeast of central south base (Base #5).
  • Then, rush to the west of the map and defeat the officer at the north of the southwest of the map (Base #4).
  • Just keep running and move on to the defeat another officer at the east of southern map (Base #6).
  • Then, rush back to the north of the central south base (Base #5) to defeat one more officer!
  • Now, officers are gone, but fire are still extinguish! Now, you have to take the bases! You will need to take the 2 bases at the north of the map (Base #1 (4-Captain Base) & Base #2 (4-Tower Base)) and another base at central west of the map (Base #3 (100-Troop Base)). It is recommended that you take the bases in this order: Base #3 → Base #2 → Base #1.
  • The fire is still extinguished! At this point, you need to defeat 3 officers in the central area. Two of those officers are in the middle of fire, so you will need to watch your HP bar while defeating them!
  • If you defeat all 3 officers fast enough, the rain should be starting to fall, and fire will be gone due to the rain falls. The boss that planned the entire fire plan will be out at this point! However, he is buffed with “Defense x2” and he is also in “Hyper Mode” (unstun to normal attacks). Do whatever you can to defeat him to defeat this final boss officer to complete this quest!
  • You will get either Rank S or failed the quest for this quest, regardless of time. (As usual like other event quests)
  • You can use “/thunder” emotion after the completion of this event quest. It is the combination of “/booing” emotion with the lighting effect striking in front of your character!

The "Quest of The Month" for Special Equipment
It seems that there will be no more such this type of quest going on...

Rescue My Daughter quest.

I take the SW base and then head to the Chief Bandit location, but I think he gets away because the level ends before I get to the location that flashes on the map. I end up getting an E rating on this quest each time.

Any Advice?

Pan2008 - April 3, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Just use FASTER WEAPON (125+ Speed) with LOWER SLOT FOR ATTACK (Slot 1/2/3 for Attack)!
Best weapon for this is probably Whip or Lu Xun's Sabers...

After you take the base, run like crazy... no stop, run pass through the Supply Base.

Keep in mind that most of the quests are something similar... time-sensitive... to get the better grades. Therefore, it is the best to use the higher speed weapon for quests. (Some exception applied)

BakusaiTenketsu - April 10, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
In Pan's Guide it is quest #39 and is a Rank B 1 person quest that I got from the Clash officer or Quest Officer. However there is no in depth information for the quest.

It is a very hard quest though, All the enemies are Hyper Double Defense mode and Officers can kill you in 1 hit even with defense and life boosts. The Battle takes place in Chi Bi map and I think the first thing I am supposed to do is kill 4 Officers around the boats all Hyper Double Defense.

I can't pass this quest, anyone able to help?

macross - April 10, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
That's in his guide. It says to kill without powering up to get S rank. It's in the newer added quest section near the bottom.

Was pretty damn hard when i tried it, i'd guess you need some kind of ranged attack, and maybe an attack amulet or mosou up amulet. An item to auto regen your musou perhaps would be good too if there is one.

強まれば弱まらん − When Strengthening, It Doesn't Weaken (Rank: B)

Obtain This Quest from: (Quest NPC)
Amount of Player Needed: 1 Player

Procedures:
Your task is to defeat all 4 officers as fast as possible, while you reinforce (buffs) as few as possible!
First officer you see will buff in Hyper Mode, defeat him!
The rest 3 officers will buff with Defense x2, defeat them all as well!
To Get Rank S: No reinforcement (???? is fine, but no stats reinforce) with all 4 officers defeat regardless of time.

BakusaiTenketsu - April 11, 2008 12:23 AM (GMT)
So any other tips for beating this then other than items? I tried several times and I cannot even beat 1 officer yet alone 4. I get killed in one shot generally especially since I cannot buff up.

macross - April 11, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
only way seems to kill one guy and get a powerup, they always seems to be attack x2, and use a weapon with empty slot 1 so you can activate it.
pop that for 5sec and musou the officer with it. Takes quite a few musous to kill one though, the first guy. If you can find a barrier somehwere you can jump and shoot him till he dies too. The twin sabers shoot if you jump up etc like that. They guys also don't seem to chase far so lure out a group till they stop chaseing and run back to their start point. Some weapons have a charge 1 that rushes forward and hit's mobs too or shoots as well.

BakusaiTenketsu - April 11, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
Just a place to post some questions for quests themselves?

Most of my questions about the game are just about quests at this point and I hate to make a new topic every time I have a question about one.

My current quest question is Brothers of Zu quest. Are the brothers just supposed to stand there? Am I supposed to stand there with them? Or am I missing something?

Pan2008 - April 12, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
Topic Title Changed!
Also, merged the older topics to this one...

Anyways... This one is already asked once. So I will quote here. (It's in In-Game Help Topic)

QUOTE
Well, it seems that I need to add this line for 行方知れずの兄弟 − Brother of Zu (Rank: D).

"After you visit to him, move out and kill troops. Then when signal called over again, go there again and repeat until that brother is go back to town safely."

So, once you see the brother there, just move out and kill troops. It's like you are their bodyguard. So, staying will not really do anything to the quest!

How many KOs are necessary for S Rank in "The Enemy Messenger's Capture" quest from the Commander?

macross - April 14, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
1100 is it? Is posted somewhere hehe. Most ive gotten was 1052 so far, still A ;;

[O5A] V̌b (Rank: C)

Obtain This Quest from: (Specific Commanders Only)
Amount of Player Needed: 2 Players

Procedures:
Take 6 bases
1 Person go to southeast of the map, another person stay at northeast of the map. Defeat officer.
Kill all yellow troop at north of the map.
Kill Zhang Jiao!
------------------------------------------
Was doing this one with friend, sun ce gave it.
The faq is missing a step, where you have to talk to 4 guys, with the last spot being in SE corner. It will flash the 4 locations for you when the map begins.

Also to be clear, you need to kill all yellow troops in NW area. The yellow troops only appear after you talk to the guy 3x I believe, that or they appear after you talk to the guy in the SW corner. 4th time you talk to him, in the SE corner, he pops the officer in the NE. In any case, gotta talk to all 4 guys, make sure you watch where they flash it to tell you where.

Also you need to each kill 400 troops.

Sadly we havent killed zhang jiao, he's in super uber hyper mode hehe.

Pan2008 - April 15, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Sorry about that...

However, the quests from specific commander... I can do only the one that I am serving under with (Zhao Yun). Therefore, I canoot test all of those quests from all of the commanders...

I did that quest only once, with my original PDWari in Wu with Kusuha (serve under Da Qiao)... Therefore, I cannot really get the clear steps as the one that I can repeat regularly...

Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2008 (April 14th, 2008)

zhaojilong - April 15, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
hmmm maybe me and kusuha should post the guides for multi-person quest since we do that very often these days...and we are all from different commander-only for Shu though

Pan2008 - April 15, 2008 04:20 AM (GMT)
Go ahead and send me via MSN or something, so I can add those up...
I have only one character in Shu... x.x

However, Shu only has 4 officers, but there are 5 pairs of quests from commander (from Q1A + Q1B to Q5A + Q5B, all officers are come with one out of those 5 pairs with all one person quests). Therefore, it is better if you can do those quests in Wu (12 officers there) with Kusuha sub-character (or with me as well if that quest is 3 ~ 4 persons).

I may probably going to take a while to add the quests for practice from "Trainer NPC."

Spring Break is next week, so I may have time to test out quests.

Insomnia, please beaware that Kusuha does not really like to make guide... x.x

Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2008 (April 15th, 2008)

zhaojilong - April 15, 2008 04:24 AM (GMT)
LOl yes yes I realise that when i told her i better write down what to do for each quest. Her response "Is that really necessary" and I more or less knew that LOL

As for quest for Wu...arrg my Clone there is not trained at all.I merely created it to make $$ >_<"

Yeah not biggie. Just wanted to post about it since the mobs in the north wouldn't pop one time we did it, was going huh??? Then I noticed it keeps spaming something about 1 to 4 men. Also kept noticing 400 men spams appearing too, so figured gotta kill 400 soldiers each too, as I had 400 killed but partner did not.

Can add this infos to your guide for your next revision or something in case other's have tried without any luck either^^

Our strategy, I would talk to all 4 men, and take out bottom 3 bases, then go NE and take out the officer. Teammate would take out NW bases, and kill all the yellow men to the NW. Then we meet up and finish off the last base to the north if needed. If he clears the Yellow fast and has time to take the last base himself, I would attempt to fight Zhang myself while he runs there. With my lame rank3 weapon with no emptly slots avail to get the ???? powerups, he's very hard to kill hehe. But can likely cheeze him to death behind a fence if you have a weapon that can shoot projectiles with your jump or charge 1 attack. Have plenty of time to fight him, we usualy have like 6 minutes by the time he appears. Haven't tried him in a while now though, but probably would kill him easy with a diff weapon next time we try it.

Freqman - May 20, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
Hi,

I was wondering what happens when you completed a quest? i was able to complete a quest that the Barman gave to me, but i don't know what to do after that.. do i have to see someone in order to get my rewards? or do i gain any rank ??? i still have 0 money so how can i gain any money?

so basically i have 2 questions.

1- Once a quest is completed, (from the barman) do i have to see anyone to get rewards? if so, than who ?

2- How can i get any money in that game (besides selling stuff to the pawn shop)

BakusaiTenketsu - May 21, 2008 08:16 AM (GMT)
You go back and turn the quest in to the person who gave it to you. You are then rewarded on the spot. Don't expect alot of cash for quests, I think there is only a handful that actually give money. There are two ways to make money in the game other than cash given as a quest reward though.

The first way is to sell your consumables, armor, or weapons to the Trader or Pawn Shop. You will get a small amount of cash for the stuff you dont use or want if you go to the Trader. The Pawn Shop, which is like an Auction house, allows you to sell one weapon, armor, or set of consumables each and you can make more money than selling to the Trader, but you have to wait for another player to buy your stuff.

The second way to make money is to raise your Salary Domestic Affair through quests or by having a Commander who gives you a bonus to it. Then every Real Life Week, go talk to your Commander (the one you chose, not the Leader of the Force). You will be given money based on how high the Salary stat is. It can be as low as 100 gold or up in the 1000's or more. For example, I have a Salary of 23 on one of my characters and she brings in 1300 a week (real life, 6 months in game) in gold.

Wind Mage - June 7, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
I've been having a big headache because of one strange thing in some quests... After I've done what I was shown (conquer a base, kill a specific officer...) two spots appear where are 2 officers... I kill them, but every single time they return, I kill them as many times I can, but always I run out of time, so I suppose there is some "secret" or something that I have missed.

-Postdata: where are the quest guides you all are talking about?
Thanx

BakusaiTenketsu - June 8, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Some quests require that you kill two officers at roughly the same time or within a couple seconds of each other. You typically need to widdle one of their lives down, then go widdle the other one's life down, then get them as close together as possible and kill them at the same time or close to.

Encerta - June 25, 2008 03:51 AM (GMT)
Hey I thought I should ask, if I may.

Beginner's Quest;

I believe there's one where you had to defeat officers in 2 forts. And somehow, they regen in their forts and the HP recovered is more than my damage dealt. I do hope to enquire, how is it possible to beat that? O_O

Affirmative - June 25, 2008 05:48 AM (GMT)
1. Use a weapon with higher damage
2. Use attack x2 or attack x3
3. Hit them out of the fort to stop hp from regenerating
4. Destroy the Urns inside the fort to stop hp from regenerating

Encerta - June 25, 2008 06:04 AM (GMT)
Ahh I see. I knew it has something to do with those urns since, the colour the emitted was relatively similar. So, I could actually dispell them by pushing them out of the forts? Cool.

Alright, one more thing though, about those over-powered enemy at those supply base ((One with Red Flag)), how is it possible? Or its simply because I am too weak?

Affirmative - June 25, 2008 06:26 PM (GMT)
For the officers at SB:

Do you mean in quests or clashes?

The officers there have different attack and defense rating for different difficulty levels in clashes. Not sure about quests though, maybe we can get Pan to answer that.

However, it could be your weapon does not have enough attack or technique is not right, you can also use the methods that i mentioned earlier:

Push the officers out of the fort or destroy the urns and try to keep an attx2 to make the process faster~

Cheers

Encerta - June 25, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
Alright I will try that.

Another question if you don't mind.

Weapons!

Why is it so that my initial spear ((Zhao Yun's)) get to fill the bar on the bottom right whereas when I equipped Pang De's or even Diao Chan's, I couldn't seem to get the bar filled even when I succeed in those quests?

And, how do I level up my weapon?

O_O

Pan2008 - June 26, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
Hmm... Since Affirm is not sure about SB in Quests... Well...

Since ALL QUESTS are set as "Normal" difficulty by default [Affirm, look carefully at the top left corner next time when you do the quest]. Therefore, Supply Base (SB) in Quests are feature only a normal HP (not DOUBLE HP BAR like in "Expert/Pro" difficulty).

Since you were just started not long ago. You probably has only basic Rank 1 weapon, which is weak and can has a difficult time to do quests. Since officers' powers are based on "Normal," not "Beginner" difficulty! Therefore, the best way is to keep do the "Military Training" and then "Clash" after you get enough 義 (War XP) to get new weapons, armors, stones, and all that.

For leveling up weapon?

THIS IS NOT DYNASTY WARRIORS 4, where you get Weapon as EXP value, nor you need to do special conditions for the 4th weapon, whatsoever in DWO!

DWO rules are TOTALLY different from console versions. Only the basic fight and buttons from console version can be use in DWO, but the rest, you have to learn them manually!

The weapons will come RANDOMLY in clashes or "Fight" battles only! The higher difficulties will yield the better and higher ranks of weapon. However, it is better for you to get the weapon that you can use at current time. But at the same time, since the War XP between the loewr ranks' promotions are not as bad as the higher ones. It is better for you to use the base weapon until around 500 XP for Rank 3 weapon. Then, that time... You can go hunt and "item farming" for Rank 3 weapon and stones. Upgrade with "Blacksmith" NPC and that your so-called "Upgraded Weapon!"

However, since each person prefer different weapons. I cannot teach you in-depth about it. You have to experience yourself (probably with many trial-and-errors) to get use to the DWO Weapon System.

Be alert though... DWO Movesets are adjusted by GM here. So some movesets are TOTALLY DIFFERENT from DW5!

Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2008 (June 25th, 2008)

I have some questions about quests;

There are two beginner training quests that I cannot win somehow.

- A quest I believe I had to get my Sub General to hit 100 KOs. If I may ask, how do I accomplish that since, I cannot control him and don't know how many KOs he've got?

- Another quest which I do not know the name. Cough. As a matter of fact, I have completed all except for 3 quest which I failed.

Hello, I am new to this game I figured out how to play in a smooth manner, but the quests. Only the quests are trouble makers for me, I must say that I love this game. So I tried to download Pan's translation guide but get error when I try to download, so Pan could you pm me another link? I appreciate your work. It would be friendly from you thank you. :)

Pan2008 - September 11, 2008 08:17 PM (GMT)
The current "Event Quest" is now updated, but you have only around 5 days left to do this quest, so hurry up!

The next patch seems to have another "Event Quest" waiting for you...

So like i just started playing a few days ago and it's a pretty awesome game. Im usally good at figuring out how jp games work and play them without knowing Japanese. However the only problem i have in this game is understanding how the quests work. Is there a specific place i go to do the quest after receiving it, or do i just go to the guy in the robe where you pick the field and what army to engage?

starwolf931 - October 9, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
First quests you do at the guy dresed in red and when you get 500xp or 200xp Im not shure anymore you take quests from guy in bar or any other guy who give quests (blacksmith,armorer...) to start quest you go to guy infront of the bar (right guy infront of the bar) take second option and thats that.

Sory for my englis

I have DL some guides from here. But really i've been looking for days to find out how to do the them. Do you think i would just drop in a topic if i didn't think it was important? Also instead of just saying a topic is stupid how about helping out and showing me where the guide is hmm? But yeah if this is a pointless topic im sure the mod will delete it.

Pan2008 - October 10, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
There is the "Quest Help" topic in "Pinned Topics" section...

Anyways, at first, every players MUST do the "First Battle" quests.
Then, you choose your commander.

After that, you are free to do "Military Training" for below 200 義 (War EXP) or "Clash" for 200 義 and above.

In any cases, after you choose your commander, you will be able to do quests. Quests are from various NPCs. All merchants in market (except Pawn Shop), Clash NPC, NPCs in bar, your commander, and even Quest NPC give quests by select 特務 (Quest - last option for all NPCs) and choose the quest that you want to do. After you choose your quest, the quest name should be highlighted in "Yellow."

All quests are needed to evaluate with Quest NPC (文官). He is the left NPC beside the door at the bar. You choose 2nd option for it (other options: 1st = Practice, 3rd = Get the quest from himself). Then select the quest you want to do. Do whatever you need to achieve the quest with the best grade that you can do (Rank S).

Once you completed the quest, go to the NPC that you picked up the quest and choose 特務 (Quest) again. Choose the one that is "highlighted in yellow." Then, the NPC will give you Domestic Affairs points (aka Quest Points) and some usable items.

You can hold only up to 5 quests at a given time.

Also, once you complete the quest (or if you (accidentally) cancel the quests by talking to the NPC that give you the quset and choose 2nd option without evaluating the quest). You cannot do it again until the quest "refresh." The refresh rate is depending on the Rank on quest.

Refresh Rate:
  • Rank E & D = 2 months in game (60 hours or 2.50 days)
  • Rank C = 3 months in game (90 hours or 3.75 days)
  • Rank B = 4 months in game (120 hours or 5.00 days)
  • Rank A = 5 months in game (150 hours or 6.25 days)
The timer start after the NPC gives you the rewards (or the time that you canceled the quests).

Well, I will not delete, but instead "merged" to "Quest Help" topic.

Sincerely, Pan2007 ~ Pan2008 (October 9th, 2008)
