Title: Da Ji

LittleDragonZ - October 9, 2007 08:10 AM (GMT)
Discuss about her here.

We all know she's very hard to control, but her weapons are sure a creative high pointer that Koei have given the game and PS2's DW/SW end finale, excluding SW2:XL. So thumbs up for that. In fact probably the most creative MS out of the lot. She just simply acts as Orochi's strategist playing most of his and her role in the game if you know what I mean. Which can be seen as good because having Orochi in more than 5 or so stages altogether would probably be a bit too much, IMHO.

Moveset-wise, her musou is pretty cool and she's a great character for racking up combo's even if she does slide all over the battlefield uncontrollably. You just have to know when to cancel certain moves, that's all. Her R1 is very useful also as an officer killer, but that's about it for me. Oh, and it's helpful for guarding you whilst you mount on a horse.

nenemeia - October 9, 2007 09:31 AM (GMT)
I certainly agree about it. Da Ji is a good character to use, despite her hard-to-control moveset but it is still OK. I have gotten her 4th level weapon. It's worth using her, powerful R1, awesome musou and charge attack, not forgetting her personality. LOL. I haven't played the English version but I like her in the Japanese version.

IMO she is also a good VA in the EU version. But that could just be me.

God-Like Phoenix - October 9, 2007 12:24 PM (GMT)
Yeah, her voice in the english version is really good, and she looks really good, especially for a sidekick to a demonic creep :P

her moves are hard to control, she runs around everywhere, and its hard to attack just one enemy, so thats what her special is good for, it cleans up all enemies directly infront of you, its got great power and range. Her musou shows that she is a real cranky person :P seriously, she acts like shes bloody psyco when she does it.

I got her 4th weapon also, looks pretty cool, and the idea for the character was really well done, and she plays a good part in all the stories, even if she does take away a bit of Orochi's spotlight.

I can create the orochi thread, i got him, and i got a bit to say about him, if ya want :P

G. O. W. - October 9, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
She's pretty strong, and yes she has a very hard to control MS. But this just makes her for the most part a crowd clearer, and not an officer killer.

Very original weapon, most females seem to get those in Koei games. Not a bad voice and delivers some good lines in the game for the most part. She just annoys me almost as much as Fuma in SW2 with her appearances and intro cutscene. Alot of times I just say "shut up and die" :P

The one thing I did find interesting was that they gave her the DW MS. They gave the SW MS to Orochi, and it really looks as if it should be the other way around.

God-Like Phoenix - October 9, 2007 12:42 PM (GMT)
yeah, i noticed that, but then again, it would be a bit unfair to one of the games if they were both the one style, and i guess that they just thought that it wouldve suited the character style, and i rekon they got it pretty damn right on, Da Ji, with the dw, which is sort of an average allround type ms, and giving orochi the power type ms, just like him, dont you agree?

kazxjun - October 9, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
I totally agree with you guys as well. I actually liked using her despite her hard to control moveset. Her musou and R1 makes up for that. She looks very interesting even fighting on a horse. I am not sure on her personality though, she sounds a bit teenage like instead of a older mature woman but then again that is just me.

The Nightbringer - October 9, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)
Hard to control, aye but.. man is she ever strong?! I have her weapon endowed with Ice and Flash so I can freeze people in place and beat on them. She's not strong enough to enter Hard mode so I've been playing with her in normal and.. she's gotten so strong to a point that her C4 just.. devastates. I'm playing as Tadakatsu and Lu Bu in her team and she makes those two look bad, its amazing. xD

Definitely one of my new favorite characters, which is weird because normally I don't like evil women-type characters.. Da Ji is probably the only exception because just about everything about her design is perfect. I think the trade off for her being hard to control is that she can become pretty powerful pretty easily.

Empress Daji was a character in Chinese history. So it makes sense she'd have the DW/Chinese style musou.

She's a decent character. Although she's clearly a boss so at times playing her isn't all that fun.. Sort of like using Igniz in KOF 2001 through arcade mode.

She can actually be more overpowered than Orochi if you use her properly.

Monkia - October 9, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
Her personality was the first thing that drew me in, wanting to unlock her. Though she moveset makes her move like a slippery bar of soap, she's pretty fun to use compared to some of the other characters with identical movesets.

DezShadow666 - October 9, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
the only thing i like about her is part of her bewbs show xD

jk

her moves are okay.. but.. she has a cool personality lol

MitsunariIshida - October 9, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Shes a good cword striker. Her moveset is hard to control but not bad as well.Im fine with ehr personailty, seeing its alsmost or kind of simmilar to Mitsunari. Her musou is a good officer killer.Man,my brother loves doing that.

pks - October 10, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
I love playing her, infact, outside of Tachibana, she's the only female Warriors officer made that I can stand playing. I'm a sucker for unique movesets, so that's probably why she appeals so much to me.

PotatoSamurai - October 10, 2007 12:41 AM (GMT)
Da Ji was a nice new character for this game. I liked her personality as a bad guy. I actually couldn't stand her so I think that makes her good as an evil character. She certaintly made the Wei story more interesting than it already was. She is hard to use but her R1 is so powerful. Her orbs are sorta long range so it makes it hard to attack up close. Her design fits her character nicely. Good job Koei on making Da Ji. ;)

zenkokuku - October 10, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Don't really like playing her.
Using spheres to attack is just not my type.

God-Like Phoenix - October 10, 2007 04:52 AM (GMT)
id rather use crazy out there weapons, its just a tad to boring for my taste, just using the regular sword or spear, dont get me wrong, i like a few of those characters, but i find it more fun and exiting to use the rediculous weapons, and da ji fits into that catagory.

I find her a really annoying character to vs, because of that wide range, and her moving around all of the time, but that all a hate about her pretty much, i actually think that its harder to fight her than orochi

A massive anchor is one, another is 6 swords, just to start with.

you know she doesnt actually dieit only says something in Wus story the rest she just retreats

Japanese one different

or a forshadow for the future of a mousou Daji

God-Like Phoenix - October 10, 2007 10:22 AM (GMT)
yeah, all she says in the earlier levels is stuff like ooh you havent won yet, and crap like that, and in the last levels, where everyone else dies, all she says is

"Well, that was fun, bye" something like that ,and just reatreats, never dies, so maybe koei is hinting that she could be coming back in someway shape or form, i rekon it would be cool is koei made her a secret character in dw6 or sw3

Actually, in everyone's story mode no officer ever dies. Not until you go into Free Mode is it where they start dying off. Saying things like 'So this is to be my final battle..' and 'Ugh.. such a cold embrace..' I believe Da Ji's death quote is 'But.. I thought I was.. immortal!'.

Kinda weird if you ask me, normally in any DW/SW games enemies die in any given level but since WO's story is jacked I suppose that lets everyone live.

Li_An_Di - October 10, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
I don't like her that much she irritates me, i like her Musou, her set is hard to control, i do understand why people do like her but she just really annoys me :P

She doesn't have a bad voice. In fact hers and Orochi's are both decent additions.

So I don't seem to see the problem? :P

In the Shu story she returns to Orochi's side for the final confrontation, though.

However I can't remember what she says (if anything) when you beat her the second time..

sorry Little Dragon Z, i didn't say she had a bad voice i just said her irritates me, i have used her and will probably get her to level 99 with personal item and 4th weapon but shes not one i'd use after that, just like Zhang Jiao and Yoshimoto (but she is probably higher on the list than those 2). :P

yeah, that because in the 7th stage, Zhuge traps her, and forces her to take them to where Liu Bei is, she does, and in doing so, runs back to orochi, so yeah, you do verse her more than once in shu, and you also do so in wei, no wait, sorry, it was sengoku, the battle at guan du, i also think there were several times wei and wu fought her, i think there was, just cant remember

The Nightbringer: well yeah, thats the only time people actually die, other than when you beat orochi in the 8th level, and i dont really play free mode, cause ive cleared all of the stories, so i can use anyone i want :P

I believed she said the same thing she usually does when you beat her.... It's either that or nothing at all. I only remember that it's one of those two.

My personal opinion on this character is that I find her relatively mediocre. She has some nice crowd clearing moves but it's really to beat officers with her unless you whore out the R1 attack she has. Her attacks a little hard to control and some of them can easily leave wide out for an attack if you spin out the wrong way. Her musou attack was relatively ineffective because I found it didn't do much damage and it was most certainly the most hardest move in her moveset to control, which is why I usually sticked with using the R1 attack. Comparing her to Orochi, I find her to be wayyyy more quicker then him but far more weaker. IMO, Orochi was better because he could hit a good amount of enemies from a distance and had a much more better time handling both officers and soldiers unlike Da Ji. On top of this, his musou move was much more effective then what Da Ji's was.

I never found her to be much of a challenge because she usually has a crappy defense and since I'm a Nobunaga and Ginchiyo player, it can be pretty easy to take her out if you use their R1 attacks intellgently. When going against her, I usually found the dudes helping her out to be more of a problem then Da Ji herself. So I usually took all her allies before going against.... She's nothing by herself.

As for her personality, I wasn't too big on that either. She was rather annoying to me and she always comes around to do so when I least want her too.

Legacy Warrior - October 11, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
She's a very good character her C1 and R1 attacks are demonic. Also her C4 with the right element is deadly. Just one thing if she is a fox where is her tail lol

Ts'ao Ricky - January 10, 2008 05:47 PM (GMT)
Da Ji is one of my favorite characters from Warriors Orochi. Besides her being very hard to control, her weapon looks very unique, as well does her move-set. I played with her and I enjoyed it, she's not all that bad. Her Musou is very fun to use when around many enemies IMO. But the best part of her is her R1 special. I really had fun abusing that move haha.

Kimmy - January 10, 2008 06:02 PM (GMT)
I think Da Ji is a very good character ^_^ She may look a little strange but apart from that she has an excellent moveset. It is fast and hard to control but I dont care its still good. Her r1 move is amazing I was surprised by how much damaga it took off. I thought her VA fitted her well as it goes with her personality

King Of Wei - January 10, 2008 06:06 PM (GMT)
Da Ji R1 move is the best. Her moveset ain't that bad but it is hard to control  . She is better then most characters in WO so that is the reason why I think she is a good character.

Qiao Elegance - January 10, 2008 06:41 PM (GMT)
Her moves are top notch for crowd control, but she isn't somebody I'd count on for one on one situations, unless you spam her R1.

kazxjun - January 10, 2008 06:42 PM (GMT)
Da Ji reminds me of an elf on ice skates. I really don't enjoy her moveset at all to tell you the truth. Her R1 is the only thing that allows me to enjoy using her though.

Mr.Honda - January 10, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
After playing with Da Ji some more, I found that her (C5?) attack is pretty linear and easier to control than the others. I can just line her up with a crowd in front of her & leap and twirl into the crowd and watch them all fall down. If any officers are in there, they also take a beating. If not, then C1 or R1 until they are no more.

Her other moves are harder to control, but with Agility 10 & some practice, you can learn to steer her in the right direction. The only move I don't use is her C6. I have no use for those lasers at the end since I've usually passed through the entire crowd by then.

She appears to have heavy element activation across her moveset. Even if she is an elf on ice skates ( kazxjun) I enjoy using her. I think her musou attack is funny. She just seems so pissed off at someone/something to hurl those fireballs the way she does.

DragonZilong - January 17, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
She is Very Annoying Evil and PALE!! Shes not chinese i tell you NOT!!!
