Title: The Uesugi's Surrender To Akechi
Description: That's Right Folks
Miho - November 20, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
A kunoichi sent personally from Kasuga steps foward and addresses Mitsuhide, bowing before him.
"Miss Kasuga is surrendering to the Akechi. All the remaining Uesugi lands now belong to them. Aswell as this, Kasuga herself and a choosen few request to join the Akechi army. Kasuga takes a Geas, the Geas is as following:
~No act of malicious intent will be taken upon any member of the Akechi Military Forces~
"Kasuga also requests that Ranmaru Mori, Nagayoshi Mori, Murashige Araki, Nishina Morinobu and Kimiko are allowed to join safely. Each one of them will also take the Geas."
Wei General Xu Huang - November 20, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
Mitsuhide nods.
"Then the rest of the Uesugi forces shall stand down in their battles, your lands revert to us, and those who did not take the said vow shall be brought to Akechi castle under guard supervision."
He nods at the messenger, before adding as an afterthought:
"You can tell Misress Kasuga I would like to speak with her."
Miho - November 20, 2007 04:30 PM (GMT)
The kunoichi nods and stands up, facing Mitsuhide.
"As soon as Kasuga can make it, she will definately come to see you! Please excuse her lateness, but she is currently away. I will be sure to inform her about yor request. And thank you for accepting the surrender, you have done the right thing".
The kunoichi smiles and bows once more, before disappearing.

Hmm, and I thought each officer had to have less then 5000 troops, and the Uesugi to have 2 or less pieces of land before they could surrender as such, or have all rules been called off?

Oookay...I thought the Uesugi wouldn't give up so fast. The game will get too easy now, with the amount of Akechi officers there are
Miho - November 21, 2007 12:24 PM (GMT)
First of all, if i can only have a certain amount of lands, then i'll simply retreat from the battles, go into territory 12 and then surrender. If i can only have a certain amount of troops, then i don't know how to get around that. I'll just send them as a gift to the Akechi =/ .
Secondly, the Akechi wasn't going to be my first choice. I'm sure it's obvious who i would've picked, if only i didn't find out what i did. I'm sure Nick knows what i mean ^^ . So taking that into consideration, i chose the Akechi, seeing as i have no other allies. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
And thirdly, call it what you may, giving up or being clever, my force was going to get slaughtered. Becoming the leader of a clan that is completely in the crap isn't exactly easy, and hard choices had to be made.
Please Hojo officers, don't come crying to me because i didn't join you, blame your leader for that.

I'm sure it was written at the satrt of this game as well though.

HA I knew the Uesugi surrender was against the rules
In case a faction is losing, a ruler cannot just quit. They must continue fighting or else retire their character. If a ruler is down to two territories or so, they may get the option to surrender to another warlord, though if they or any of their vassals still have over 5,000 troops they are still unable to quit.
from here peoples
http://z13.invisionfree.com/koeiwarriors/i...?showtopic=5405Hence the surrender should never have been allowed to happen!!!
Miho - November 27, 2007 12:51 PM (GMT)
If you really want to persist in making this more difficult, then fine :P .
I'll have Nagayoshi and Murashige retreat from thier battles into my only territory which is not being attacked, there's nothing in the rules against retreating is there? ;) .
After that, i'll send all thier troops as a "Gift" to the Akechi, i don't see anything about that in the rules either! Once that's done, my surrender should be fine as i'll only have 2 territories (Counting south mutsu) and less then 5,000 troops!

You're mistaken bain. Read it again.
The less than 5000 troops thing means that the players' cannot simply QUIT, it has nothing to do with the surrendering validity. It means they have to continue playing under the new faction unless they retire.
Two territories or so. We left this open-ended for mod interpretation. Do you even know why we established this rule? It was meant to guard against the mass-merging bull crap several of the last Conquer games did(some people merged their factions nearly without fighting at all,) and it did a fine job of preventing it. It was NOT meant to curb legal surrendering instances like this one. Effectively, the Uesugi had two/three provinces at best: South Mutsu was all but lost, Kozuke was taken, North Mutsu was taken, Noto-Etchu was going to be the Toyotomi's quite soon as the Uesugi players in that battle left the game, so at BEST they had Echigo, Noto-Etchu and Shimotsuke.
