Title: Commander Penant? Uniting muliple squads!?
Description: Just got it, but its hard to use.

So the Commander Penant seems to allow me to unite an entire battle group (as in 5 or 6 squads grouped into one team travelling together).

By the sounds of it it's totally awesome. However, when I use it my character gets the yellow glow and it says the squads are united and they basically travel together for a little bit and as soon as any enemy arrives it all breaks up and falls to bits -_-

So is anyone experienced at using this item? Is it just for moving big blocks of troops long distances on the battlefield or can you actually use it tactically??

(thanks any1 that knows).

i wanna know what is that item and how you get it??

It's on of the Penant's (flag things that you can equip). I got it after the Battle of Paris (4 star fame).

It seems like you can keep using it as well. It's not single use.

Actually I found someone posted some more info. on gamefaqs here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessag...&topic=39714852

I need play around more at using this.

In which this means you can bring more than one squads with more than 100 troops at the same time, kick ass!

Does anyone have anymore info on this? And why it keeps breaking up when close to combat, Leady F ^^?

I don't have it yet, but its got me all excited reading this topic! Though, I've only just really got 2 star fame and will still be quite a way away.

hmmm (I must admit I'm not that experience in using it, I'm sure there are people that know it better than me)...it seems to be better for moving columns of troops rather than actually linking them for fighting. It's not precise enough for battle.

Its great when u want to take a base far from the main action where there are no squads around. (I need to try linking together a 3 x Elephant Squads with full Leadership, 20 Ele stampeed!).

I looked in my inventory last night when playing Bladestorm and at the bottom found the pennant 'Commander.' I'm just too scared to use it since I don't know where I got it from or how many you can get. Can you buy them all the time on 5-star fame? I'm still on 4-star myself.

I think once you get it, its persistant. Its not a one-shot like other penants as far as I know.

Oh, that's my fault, I remember you saying so now. I must of just forgotten about that when I posted the above message. Anyway, I'll try when I next play the game, thanks!

The only reason which I even put the 'Commander' pennant in battle is that I use it only to move troops in entering enemy bases.

For me, it is much more helpful in taking over bases during the early 5-star bases. However, when there's a unit that is, shall we say, overpowered (where I have overleveled units, I literally circle the base and wipe out all the defending units in hopes of lowering the base points to zero and take over the base), it's another story.

There are some instances where the 'Commander' pennant does not function. I don't know if it's a glitch or what. When I use the pennant on stationary troops (near the enemy base, not near an allied base, when I use the pennant on troops near the allied base it works), they do not move at all. Sometimes, this frustrates me, and I just resort to good old 'Beat 'em Up' to the defenders of the enemy base.

huh, i got it for joan, before going to the battle at bordeaux (my history teacher's ancestors came from there :P ) but i never used it cause i thought it was just a one off Penant, so i never used it, so i never knew how it worked, but i guess i should have a go with it since its a permanant fixture :P thanks for the info
