If it was called Bladestorm Warriors it would probably get a 6 or something though. :P

Reviewers seem to have a fit with the word Warriors, but Bladestorm is something new, completely new era and characters, changes to the typical hack n' slash system. Anything new in reviewers eyes always looks better then an existing product getting improved!

And, well Bladestorm does look pretty sweet as well, so let's just enjoy good Koei game reviews while they still exist. ^_^

yeah jeuxvideo.com doesnt give it a good mark but i think its becaus they ask a guy who dont like the heavy beat them all game and if you check all the other web site they all give betwen 8 to 9.5/10

It's wonderful that Bladestorm is getting such amazing reviews, but nobody says anything about Shakti or Pizan lol.

Hi guys, yeah I think this is the highest score of the KOEI games that I've seen so far of course I'm happy.

Sakon, maybe they should change Dynasty Warriors to Dynamite Nasty Storm... Well, to be honest, it's not the problem of the name.

It's because they really tried out the game and found it's different from the hack n slashes DW, plus it's a new gameplay + massive battlefield :)

Just in case you don't know what we've seen is you can control only 1 squad like 20 - 30 troops when you get an item you can take more than 1 squad at the time and do what you want so it'll be more than 100+ troops on the screen!!

Plus, there's so many hidden weapons from DW, SW and popular weapons in history (e.g.: Robin Hood's bow or etc) and of course the Xing Cai's costume and so many things can be unlocked!

Hey, I'm the owner of PSN@Home glad to see other sites linking to us even if it's just in a forum. This game was amazing I would had put review up much sooner but I wanted to beat the full game so I could give an accurate score on the story.

I hope they make another bladestorm, that isn't about the Hundred Year's War though.

That is really a suurprising score for Bladestorm but I wouldn't rate it that high.

To me it's Rome Total War meets Dynasty Warriors.

I love the gameplay though and the fact that it's actually harder than I thought, which is good coz it makes me work harder. I am liking this game at the minute though.

Glad to see the game getting a score it actually deserves though. Nice to also see people who can shake off the whole "OMFG NO! KOEI MADE THIS! KOEI MAKE DYNASTY WARRIORS! *switches on l33t gamer brain switch* THIS GAME SUCKS!"

This game is awesome, I just got a ps3 and I downloaded the demo right away. The demo was pretty deep and I got to control a lot of units. The gameplay is very nice and the voice actors are cool because they gave them European accents. There seems to be a lot you can do in this game and I plan to get it. This game is like the evolution of Kessen so naturally I love it. The second male model in create a character looks so cool.

You're wrong, they didn't judge based on there. BTW, French warriors in Bladestorm actually more handsome, there's David Beckham --> Philippe de Bon and Arthur plus France has more girls, so KOEI actually made both England the France team "fair"ly for the looks...


The rating is low in France is because they think it's the same taking bases and killing the officers, but they never think what else can be done by not taking the bases or killing the officers? Playing with deers and chasing the rabbits?

USA got a lot of bad reviews too averagely 5/10 like France, only UK has most positive review all are 8/10 as an average!

Very less reviewers played into the final part, because you can control more than 1 squad and more than 100 soldiers, with unlockable weapons, popular weapons and some DW and SW weapons, and Xing Cai lol!

I am not your average 3 year old Koei fanatic... I realise they may have had actual reasons for a crappy review <_< But I'll tell you how you're doubly wrong:1) you took my comment seriously and 2) Frenchies are uglies.

France's uglies:

La Hire = who wears hot pants to war... seriously
de Rais = ew
Marie = fails in her Princess Leia tribute
du Guesclin = please do not tell me you think he's handsome XD

The only hotties in France are Philippe le Bon (who looks nothing like David Beckham... seriously, leave him alone :( what has le Bon ever done to you!? -_-), de Richemont and You Ji (who doesn't count because he's not technically French :P)

Wheras England only has 3 uglies: Fastolf (his hair is disgusting), Talbot and Mr Bean. I mean, Beauchamp.

Jean & the English king aren't included because they're just normal looking. Poor Jean.

English and French characters are both great ^^

Chin explained you why French bad score can't be because of characters graphics (of course, there's a score for graphics but it's for all the graphics not only characters) ;)

Yes, Chin, it's surely because French reviewers didn't play a long time Bladestorm and saw Koei on the box so for them, they just see DW.

Haha Qing Long, he does have his own opinion to rate the game by judging the character looks anyway. It's still weird to say like France has the low rating because of they look uglier. If so, then it'll be the funniest joke in ages. But yeah, he's joking ^^, PostalOrder is from England, he must be hating France a lot I guess. :lol: j/k

But if you read some French reviews, they'll say it's the same "taking bases", "defeat the officers", same gameplay, which mean they didnt play the game properly because they said it's the same as DW, etc?

And it's nothing to do with the uglies at all, and that sounds like a racism too much. Hope we can stop here and continue with this 9/10 review topic with no more argument.

My own thoughts:

I'm sorry, but I kind of in the smallest slightest way agree with PostalOrder in that how pretty faces sell games. But not because of how he said all the French characters are ugly, that has little to do with it, however I still wouldn't call it racism. All the game would need is one hero icon on the front cover and the cash is already coming in.

Females players wouldn't buy the games if none of the girls were pretty, thats a fact! And the game designers know this, which is why they also give those girls the more 'defined' areas. Lara Croft is a prime example! Look at Soul Calibur 4 for instance as well! Pretty faces for the girls and the 'defined' areas for the boys. Its not me being a pervert of anything because its the truth and the intention. Tomb Raider: Anniversary does show this in how she is positioned on the front cover.

With the male playables, its the attraction for the girls and the coolness factor for the boys.

Moving on, PostalOrder, you literally want both armies to be split 50/50 with half of the English being handsome and half of the French?

This game is really great ......... hope to see more of Blade Storm

And yeah it deserves 9.3 .
