Title: Board Event!
Description: The Kirk Street Killer

Mjinga - December 26, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
This thread is part of a new boardwide event taking place on Affections and Affectations.

The Kirk Street Killer has made his/her first appearance. This will shortly be known by most if not all of the PCs in character. All PCs are welcome to involve themselves in the investigation and intrigue that will surround the murder. It is not required for you to make your PC involved, although he or she will be aware of the killing and the police response to the shocking occurrence.

All threads set in the morning that are currently existing may assume that the killing has already happened. If your character is in a thread set at night, please finish that thread and become involved in a different one (the following day or later) before your character obtains the knowledge of the killing.

The killer is a PC on this board, and it is up to the PCs to find out IC who it is. All murderer posts are carefully vetted by the administration to get rid of any stylistic clues; the murderer cannot be identified through OOC clues, only IC information. As killings become more and more frequent, the city will be gripped in panic and speculation, and your character is welcome to attempt to solve the identity of the Killer. If a person is able to identify the murderer, he or she should take the information to the police and arrange an arrest (talk to the administration before RPing this). Bear in mind that during the court case following any arrests, your character must be able to witness and explain the chain of reasoning leading to your conclusion.

>.< I meant to post this sooner, due to the inquiries I keep recieving, but I totally forgot.

Some things that it might be useful for the curious to know about this thread:

#1 None of the staff will confirm or deny a suspect, no matter how much you ask.

#2 For those of you who have presented arguments of writing styles being similar to X person, and then asking for confirmation, see #1, and then also realise that the staff vets any and all murder posts specifically to avoid this possibility. Murder posts are edited by all staff.

#3 For those of you who have asked, yes, the murderer might be any one at all. And then see #1.

:) I'm very happy such an interest has been taken in this idea.
