Is there a song that reminds you of your character or a song you listen to while roleplaying to get you IC? Post it here! (try to limit only two songs per character)

If possible, load it up to yousendit (the account is free) and post it up so we can all have a listen!

John Doyle - February 4, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
I haven't found a song for me, yet, but this one makes me think of Nora.

Gabriellas sång

And the lyrics for the interested, translated by our very special admin just for me! :)

It is now that life is mine
I have been given a time here on earth
And my longing has taken me here
- What I missed and what I received

It is still the path I’ve chosen
- My comfort far beyond words -
That has shown me a small piece
Of the heaven I’ve never attained

I want to feel that I’m alive
All the time I have
will I live the way I wish
I want to feel that I’m alive
- Know that I suffice

I have never forgotten who I was
I have only let it sleep
Perhaps I had no choice
Only the will to still exist

I want to live
content to be me
Have the ability to be strong and free
See night turning into day

I am here
And my life is only mine
And the heaven I thought existed
I will find out there somewhere

I want to feel that I have lived my life.

Charles Bourke-Hargrave - February 4, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
This is my theme-song.

Where There's a Whip, There's a Way

That is totally true. Of course, I would never wield the whip, but it's true.

Tirzah Grant-Freeman - February 4, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
This is my song.

Ballad of Serenity

Fedya Michailov - February 4, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
((Firefly-squee!))

I have mine on yousendit, so you can download it (and delete it if you hate it)

"December" by Regina Spektor

December starts on Sunday
Next Sunday, won't you feel happier then?
Turn your room upside down,
Turn your down upside...
Rumors have started that you are in love again,
Rumors that are completely unsubstantiated..

Come on and say you're sorry,
Real sorry for the trouble that you caused
Can't you see all this love?
Can't you see all this love?

We are not evacuating this house,
We don't believe in you and your wrecking crew.

We don't believe in you and your wrecking crew

We don't believe in you
We don't believe in you,
We don't believe in you
We don't believe in you,
We don't believe in you...

Alice Alexander - February 5, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
Jack + Alice

I was at Jack(Cate's) house and we were watching Moulin Rouge and we started spazzing when we saw this scene.

It's not what's happening in the movie it's just the song kinda reminded us of jack and Alice....Once they're actually a couple and everything.

Jean-Luc Dargeaux - February 5, 2007 08:28 AM (GMT)
My song. If I had a song, that is.

You may want to skip to about a minute in, it's just a long guitar intro before that. This is the best already-online version I could find (my iTunes version is the actual best ;) ).

Who By Fire

Mjinga - February 7, 2007 12:01 PM (GMT)
I can't find it online, but Übermorgenland by Blümchen totally makes me think of Katherine Townsend.

I mean, if she would like to visit the bunny planet, she would love super morning land!

Mjinga - February 10, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
Hehe, especially the first part of this song makes me think of Nora. :)

Holding Out For A Hero (Jennifer Saunder's version -ignore the video)

Sarah Borden - February 10, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
This one makes me think of John Doyle:

I'm a Believer by Smash Mouth.

Etcetera - February 10, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
Those are both so cuuuute! :)

This one has always reminded me of my Nora.
Lilac Wine, here performed by Katie Melua (which is the version I like best), but originally written by Jeff Buckley (ignore video).

Etcetera - February 10, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
And here's Charlotte's:

She's Always a Woman, by Billy Joel (and again: Ignore the video - I don't even like that series).

Here are the lyrics, for the impatient people:

She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to love
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe
And she'll take what you give her, as long as it's free
Yeah, she steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me

CHORUS
Oh-she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh-and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

And she'll promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me

CHORUS

She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
But she can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me

Madeline Smith - February 11, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
It really reminds me of Madeline.... ;)

Anastazia Bartos - February 20, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
This reminds me of Anastazia(read her biography and you'll see why):

When I think back
On these times
And the dreams
We left behind
I'll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back
On these days
I'll look and see your face
You were right there for me

[Chorus:]
In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

Well you showed me
How it feels
To feel the sky
Within my reach
And I always
Will remember all
The strength you
Gave to me
Your love made me
Make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me

[Repeat chorus]

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always

[Chorus:]
In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
And everywhere I am
There you'll be
There you'll be

Anna Sutcliffe - March 2, 2007 08:41 AM (GMT)
This might be my song. I would, you know. Want to be those things. I try, but I can't seem to, really.

El Condor Pasa, by Simon and Garfunkel.

I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail.
Yes I would.
If I could,
I surely would.

I'd rather be a hammer than a nail.
Yes I would.
If I only could,
I surely would.

Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world
Its saddest sound,
Its saddest sound.

I'd rather be a forest than a street.
Yes I would.
If I could,
I surely would.

I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet,
Yes I would.
If I only could,
I surely would.

Tirzah Grant-Freeman - March 4, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
This is also my song. (Ignore video, although he is quite graceful, it has nothing to do with the song)

Bookends.

Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you

Mikhail Sweeney - March 4, 2007 07:22 AM (GMT)
I don't know if we're supposed to but I saw other poeple do it so I found Mikhail's song for Madeline.

The video is funny because they even start to tango at least for a little bit, haha.

Song
Sex Bomb

Lyrics
Spy on me, baby, use satellite
Infrared to see me move through the night
Aim, gonna fire, shoot me right
I'm gonna like the way you fight
(And I love the way you fight)

Now you've found the secret code I use
To wash away my lonely blues (well)
So I can't deny or lie
'Cos you're the only one to make me fly

(You know what you are, you are a)

Sex bomb, sex bomb, (yeah) you're a sex bomb (uh-huh)
You can give it to me when I need to come along (give it to me)
Sex bomb, sex bomb, (uh) you're my sex bomb (uh-huh)
And baby, you can turn me on (baby you can turn me on)
(You know what you're doing to me don't you, haha, I know you do)

Now don't get me wrong, ain't gonna do you no harm (no)
This bomb's for lovin' and you can shoot it far
I'm your main target, come and help me ignite (ow)
Lovestruck, holding you tight (hold me tight, darlin')

Make me explode although you know
The route to go is to sex me slow (slow, baby)
And yes, I must react to claims of those
Who say you are not all that (hahaha)

Sex bomb, sex bomb, (well) you're my sex bomb
You can give it to me when I need to come along
Sex bomb, sex bomb, (yeah) you're my sex bomb (ow)
And baby, you can turn me on (turn me on, darlin’)

Sex bomb, sex bomb, (uh-huh) you're my sex bomb (sex bomb)
You can give it to me when I need to come along (give it to me)
Sex bomb, sex bomb, (uh) you're my sex bomb (uh-huh)
And baby, you can turn me on (hahaha)

You can give me more and more, counting up the score (yeah)
You can turn me upside down and inside out
You can make me feel the real deal (uh-huh)
I can give it to you anytime because you're mine
(ow, ouch, uh, sex bomb, yes you are,
who say that you are not all that, oh, baby)

Sex bomb, sex bomb, (huh) you're my sex bomb
And you can give it to me when I need to be turned on (no, no)
Sex bomb, sex bomb, (well) you're my sex bomb
And baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
And baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Oh baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)
Baby, you can turn me on (turn me on)

Mjinga - March 9, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
Haven't found an online version, but I will keep looking. But this is the song Nathaniel (aka Sable) would sing, referencing Tirzah, of course. :) She was from South Carolina, but the rest fits -yellow rose is a euphemism for mulatto, at the time the song was written.

Yellow Rose of Texas (traditional folk, the first version, from ~1850's)

There's a yellow rose in Texas
That I am a going to see
No other darky knows her
No one only me

She cryed so when I left her
It like to broke my heart
And if I ever find her
We nevermore will part

She's the sweetest rose of color
This darky ever knew
Her eyes are bright as diamonds
They sparkle like the dew

You may talk about dearest May
and sing of Rosa Lee
But the yellow rose of Texas
Beats the belles of Tennessee

Madeline Smith - March 21, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
This so reminds me of Madeline. The video is even featuring Vivien Leigh!

Meredith Brooks-Bitch

Katherine Townsend - April 2, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
I just found Katherine's perfect theme song! :D

Duet of the Cats by Gioachino Rossini...

This was seriously, honestly, truly written in the 18th century (possibly the early 19th). XD

The lyrics are as follows:

Meow.

Madeline Smith - May 24, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
Isn't this the perfect song for Madeline/Mikhail?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJGubvd_I2g...related&search=

Mikhail Sweeney - June 1, 2007 06:53 AM (GMT)
Haha, yeah, it is. Except slapping Mikhail is a bad idea.

... Should I have said that?

Jack Bristol - June 7, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
Yeah! So, I know Jack has a few songs... I'm going to post the lyrics ^^

Let's get down to business
To defeat the Huns
Did they send me daughters
When I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch
I ever met
But you can bet
Before we're through
Mister, I'll make a man
out of you

Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within
Once you find your center
you are sure to win
You're a spineless, pale
pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow I'll make a man
out of you

I'm never gonna catch
my breath
Say good-bye to those
who knew me
Boy, was I a fool in school
for cutting gym
This guy's got 'em
scared to death
Hope he doesn't see
right through me
Now I really wish that I
knew how to swim

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

Time is racing toward us
till the Huns arrive
Heed my every order
and you might survive
You're unsuited for
the rage of war
So pack up, go home
you're through
How could I make a man
out of you?

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the Coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

For a long time we've been
marching off to battle
In our thundering herd
We feel a lot like cattle
Like the pounding beat
Our aching feet aren't
easy to ignore
Hey, think of instead
A girl worth fighting for
Huh?
That's what I said
A girl worth fighting for

I want her paler than the
moon with eyes that
shine like stars
My girl will marvel at
my strength, adore my
battle scars
I couldn't care less what she'll
wear or what she looks like
It all depends on what
she cooks like
Beef, pork, chicken
Mmm

Bet the local girls thought
you were quite the charmer
And I'll bet the ladies love
a man in armor
You can guess what we
have missed the most
Since we went off to war
What do we want?
A girl worth fighting for

My girl will think I have no faults
That I'm a major find
How 'bout a girl who's got a brain
Who always speaks her mind?
Nah!
My manly ways and turn of
phrase are sure to thrill her
He thinks he's such a lady killer

I've a girl back home who's
unlike any other
Yeah, the only girl who'd
love him is his mother
But when we come home
in victory they'll line up
at the door
What do we want?
A girl worth fighting for
Wish that I had
A girl worth fighting for
A girl worth fighting

Jack Bristol - June 7, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)

Mjinga - June 7, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Merged the topics so as not to have two of the same thing. :)

I like your picks. I used to watch The Swan Princess and love it. :) *memories return*

And Mulan is my favourite Disney cartoon ever.

Edith Wood - June 19, 2007 05:43 PM (GMT)
I'd have to say Wonderwall by Oasis

QUOTE
Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now

And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

Today was gonna be the day?
But they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do
About you now

And all the roads that lead to you were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
I don't know how

I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after an
You're my wonderwall

Said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

Mjinga - April 14, 2008 09:48 PM (GMT)
Wow, that's SO Anna!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2e6KsEukRc

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qZDtSt9dB0 Better version, different word order.

It's She's a lady lady lady by Richard Sanders. I think.

Somedays she's an eagle flying high
Reaching for heights unforeseen
Trying to cope with the body
Of a woman and the mind of a child
She'd left behind
The child she'd always been

Sometimes she will hide a broken wing
Ashamed to let you see
Some foolish thing that's so small
It doesn't matter, but to her
It's a thing she couldn't share
She couldn't make a scene

She's a lady lady lady lady lady
She'll always be in my heart
Even in the end as the start
She's a lady lady lady lady lady
We'll never be far apart
Even in the end when tear drops start

Seasons will take her by surprise
Changing her life and her dreams
Sometimes she looks
Like she isn't gonna make it
So you're there
To catch her in the air
Before she's fallen free

She's a lady lady lady lady lady
She'll always be in my heart
Even in the end as the start
She's a lady lady lady lady lady
We'll never be far apart
Even in the end when tear drops start

Mjinga - April 16, 2008 12:05 AM (GMT)
This song is totally John's song. *nod* I couldn't find a YouTube version, so you can download it here:

http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=852025071.wma

It's called If came the hour, by Secret Garden.

If came the hour, if came the day,
If came the year, when you went away;
How could I live? I'd surely die,
What would I be, if you said goodbye?
How would I laugh, how could I love,
Could I believe in a God above?
How would I hope, how could I pray?
If came the hour, if came the day.
But you are here, lying beside me,
I watch you breathe, each rise and fall,
Without you near, then there would be,
Nothing at all.
If in this world, all things must pass,
And we must raise, the parting glass,
No words will ever come, what could I say?
If came the hour, if came the day.
There'd be no music in my soul,
How could I dance - no you to hold.
How could I hear the violin?
There'd be no song I could ever sing.
But you are here, lying beside me.
I watch you breathe, each rise and fall,
Without you near, then there would be,
Nothing at all.
Now you're awake, the dawn sweeps in;
I touch your mouth, I touch your skin;
How would I live, if you should go away?
If came the hour, if came the day,
How could I live, if you should go away?
If came the hour, if came the day.
If came the hour, if came the day.

Murderer - May 11, 2008 06:28 AM (GMT)
My song. Bodies.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO_QntXc-c4

Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Beaten why for
Can't take much more
Here we go
Here we go
Here we go now
One - Nothing wrong with me
Two - Nothing wrong with me
Three - Nothing wrong with me
Four - Nothing wrong with me
One - Something's got to give
Two - Something's got to give
Three - Something's got to give
Now!
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Push me again
This is the end
Here we go
Here we go
Here we go now
One - Nothing wrong with me
Two - Nothing wrong with me
Three - Nothing wrong with me
Four - Nothing wrong with me
One - Something's got to give
Two - Something's got to give
Three - Something's got to give
Now!
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Skin to skin
Blood and bone
You're all by yourself
But you're not alone
You wanted in
And now you're here
Driven by hate
Consumed by fear
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
One - Nothing wrong with me
Two - Nothing wrong with me
Three - Nothing wrong with me
Four - Nothing wrong with me
One - Something's got to give
Two - Something's got to give
Three - Something's got to give
Now!
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
AAAAAAAAAH!
AAAAAAAAAH!
AAAAAAAAAH!
AAAAAAAAAH!
