Title: New Character?

Alice Alexander - May 22, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking of making a new character! Wooo. I know it doesn't really concern the general public but I just wanted some opinions and input from the admins and other people as well.

I was looking on the board and noticed that most of the characters have some sort of moral center, some sense of right and wrong. Sooo...I sort of wanted the make a character that was bad. 99.99% bad. Of course, eventually someone might bring out a good side to him but really, he's very bad. By bad I mean the charming-you-can't-help-but-love-him-but-he-would-kill-everything-you-loved-if-it-was-good-for-him sort of bad.

He's going to be the exact opposite of Alice. As much as I love her there's only so much blushing and softspokenness that one can take without anything to counter it.

He's going to be a young man and fairly poor (to begin with at least).

I was thinking of making him a gypsy at first since the discrimination would make it understandable that he wouldn't like society but I really don't know anything about them.

I was also trying to think some sort of "profession". I was thinking some sort of con-man type of thing. Maybe something where he seduces women for their money.

I basically made this board because I don't really know exactly what people need (he could be in someone's plot) and I don't know what would be acceptable at the time.

Thanks so much for your help

Well, I have one reservation about such a character... you seem to have trouble keep up with the three characters you already have (which is our limit). I would like to see you more active with them before you make this fella. :)

Alice Alexander - May 22, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
Okay, I agree, that is very reasonable and I obviously won't make him until I've become more active with Marcs specifically (I probably will end up giving up Charlie Wainwright since I can't see any good plots). Although it'll be a while til I get to make him, opinions would still be greatly appreciated.

Madeline Smith - May 22, 2007 03:36 PM (GMT)
Hmmm....Madeline might cheat on Mikhail once... :P

Mikhail Sweeney - May 22, 2007 08:17 PM (GMT)
It would be the death of that guy if she did...

But I think Mikhail would be friends with a guy like that. At least if he didn't try to cheat with Madeline.

Madeline Smith - May 23, 2007 05:22 PM (GMT)
Hehe, how about having him be a friend of Mikhail's then?

Mikhail would introduce him to Madeline, and she'd cheat on Mikhail with the man. And Mikhail would find out...and then it'd get nasty... :highfive:

Alice Alexander - May 26, 2007 08:17 PM (GMT)
Oh! Haha! That sounds pretty cool actually. I like it a lot :D

Madeline Smith - May 26, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
I'm glad your opinions square with mine. :highfive:

Alice Alexander - May 27, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
Hehe, me too.

So, if I give up Charlie Wainwright would I be able to make the character? Or do I have to wait longer?

Mjinga - May 27, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Hmm. I'm ambivalent. Lessee what Kris thinks. :)

Alice Alexander - May 28, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Mmkay. Thank you. :)

Yes. Me. Teh big boss. Hello.

Hmmm, yes; if you drop Charlie, then this one will make your third character, so I'll allow it, since our rules state that I should. ;) I would, however, be happy if you would stay active for like a week or two before creating him. That way you'll not only convince us and win our goodwill, but also hopefully be sure yourself.

Just so it has been said before the application is made: I do not believe in "99,9% bad" people and will therefore not be accepting them on the grounds of it being unrealistic. The next part of your description of him, however

sounds fine and that's why I'm giving my okay.

The point is that I want the characters to be humans, not demons or angels. We do have characters with b*tchy or asshole-y tendencies and some with criminal pasts etc. Another one would be fun though. Have to love those "Sawyer-from-LOST"-type characters. And the plot with Madeline and Mikhail sounds fun.

Alice Alexander - May 29, 2007 04:02 AM (GMT)
Okay...I'll wait a week.

I also probably should have said selfish instead of bad (bad is such a...bad...word isn't it?). By 'bad' I guess I just meant he doesn't care who he hurts if it helps himself. Now that you mention it, I s'pose he is a bit Sawyer like (OMG! DID YOU SEE THE SEASON FINALE!!! *dies*), I'll make sure he isn't too similar...I'm still working his general profession out.

Thanks for the tips :)

I DIIIID and I am officially overwhelmed. @_@

I'm also officially PISSED OFF because Charlie had to lock himself in. What the hell is up with that? Couldn't he just have gone out and closed the door from the outside? Stupid lovable and funny rock-star-sweetie wth no brain

::SPAZZESANDGLOMPSKRIS::

OMG! I KNOW! He could so easily have swum out of the door or the window crazy can't-be-killed Mikhail threw the grenade through.

And how trippy was Jack's flashback (or flash-forward)? Who died? Does anyone else find his likeness to House weird? Who died (I think it was Ben or something)? Sooo many questions.

Sorry for spamming. Just had to get that out :D

Mjinga - May 31, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
*resolves to watch LOST so she can be glomped too*

o.O Sooo many questions now! Who's Ben? Who's Jack? Who's Sawyer? Who's Mikhail? @_@

Well, since the topic has been resolved, I don't see any harm in getting off it, do you? EsPECIALLY not when it comes to good tv! :)

I'm pretty sure Jack had a flash-forward. Among other things he told Kate that he used "the golden card they gave us" - probably in compensation for the accident or for not finding them and all. I think the person who died is a new character that will show up in the fourth season, because on blown up pics of the newspaper clipping (I read this somewhere, did not check myself so don't know how true it is) the name apparently begins with J and finishes -antham or -entham. If it is Jeremy Bentham or John Lantham, this could be a new character as it is a philosopher's name, just like Locke, Rousseau and Hume (Desmond).

And yeah, he ate pillses and resembled Dr House. *Gigglefit* I don't think that had much to do with anything, but hey, what do I know. Maybe they're gonna bring him in too?! :D

P.S: I want Ben to die.
