Name: The Honourable Emma Rose Willard
Avatar: Keira Knightley
Occupation: Nobility, Daughter of the Baron and Baroness of Collingstead
Age: Twenty
Gender: Female
Appearance: If there was one word that described Emma as a whole it is would be willowy. She's quite tall in comparison to other women, standing an even 5'4". However, she is practically freakishly thin, weighing a mere 90 lbs. With that height to weight ratio, it's needless to say that she lacks most womanly curves. Her waist is very tiny, her hips are barely there, and her chest is....less then ample. A self-proclaimed waif, Emma is not at all unhappy with her figure.
Emma is not gorgeous, but she has been called pretty in the past. Her face is angular, heart shaped, with prominent cheek bones and pouty lips. Her nose is small and slightly turned up and her eyes are deep brown almonds situated beneathe two moderatly dark, groomed brows. Her hair is naturally a medium brown color and wavy. However, time spent in the sun often changed her hair from it's natural brunnette hue to a lighter, dirty blonde tone. It is usually tied back in an elaborate bun or left down.
Emma is quite plain when it comes to the clothes that she wears. She can often be found in neutral colored, simple dresses. While simple, they are still quite luxurious. There is no question of her social status by first glance. Emma also does not wear a lot of jewelry. Usually a simple pearl necklace and maybe matching earrings do the trick. She only wears extensive amounts of flashy jewelry on special occassions.
Personality: Emma is the picture of a lady during this time period. Eight basic rules of life were forced down her throat practically since birth. She must be gentle and patient. She must never speak or act in anger. Silence is often more valuable then speech. She must speak in a gentle tone of voice at all times. She must always say kind and pleasant things whenever possible. She mustn't neglect the comfort of others. She must deny her own needs and tend to those of others. She must be wary of people out to do wrong. Emma painstakingly followed these rules at all times. Only on the very rare occassion that Emma felt a very strong emotion did she break her docile state.
Emma is very obediant to her father. She does practically everything he tells her and tries to never act in such a way that would bring shame to him or the family name. She is also very religious, faithful to the Church of England, and finds sin to be absolutely horrific. Thus said, she is generally a very kind person, even to people below her social level. She actually feels sorry for those sort of people because they are not as fortunate as her, but she rarely interacts with them. Although she is kind to all, she is quite aware of the social ladder. She is not Ghandi. She feels that God puts people in social positions for certain reasons and she is not one to challenge God's will.
Emma is quite aware of the prospect of an arranged mariage that is somewhere in her near future. This is the absolute only thing that she is not particularly happy about. She is well aware that whoever she marries will be of great wealth and power, but Emma, being a hopeless romantic, wishes to marriage for love. However, she is a woman and she is also aware that what she thinks doesn't matter. She is on this earth is look pretty, marry rich, entertain men, and spread kindness.
History: Emma Rose Willard was born twenty years ago on April 14th to the Baron and Baroness of Collingstead, England. However, after Emma's birth the Baroness was left barren, making Emma the only child of the two. From an early age she was groomed for greatness. Since she was the only child of the family and happened to be female then she would be used for marriage strategy. Baron is the lowest rank of British nobility and therefore the Baron always intended for Emma to marry up in status. However, to accomplish this Emma would have to be someone worthy of it. Emma attended an all girls private school as a child for her academic and was taught more practical things, such as piano, French, sewing, etc., by her governess. Piano was her forte, but she was always told that she would have to play exceptionally to make up for the fact that her singing voice was not very pleasant to the ear. Emma was taught to be obedient and follow the rules of society. She also was taught religion and attended church service every Sabbath day with her mother and father.
Along with being educated, it was always stressed to Emma that her appearance needed to be clean and groomed. Her father provided her with the best apparel money could buy and it was her job to wear it well along with keeping herself neat and put-together. Emma was alway the tall girl at school, but it became even more apparent once she hit puberty. As the other girls she knew filled out along with growing taller, Emma kept her stick-like figure and simply grew taller. She was slightly embarassed at first, but learned to come to terms with her willowy appearance.
Now of marrying age, it is Emma's parent's mission to find Emma a suitable husband. Emma knows that she must marry for monetary and status gain, but she feels that she is being cheated out of love. However, she would never confront her father about that. She just looks pretty and hopes that her father will choose someone that she can at least learn to love.
