Title: Passions Of A Lady
Description: Madeline's Journal

Dear Diary;

Today has started out as quite a day-it turns out there has been a murder here! A real murder, not like self-defence. A person, Mr. Bullworth, had been slaughtered and dropped into a fountain in the middle of Kirk Street! An arduous sight indeed, but I didn't scream or faint like other women. This, of course drew me into a conflict with quite a few people. If you know me, then the following lines won't surprise you-at the sight of the bloody fountain, my words were: "My, someone was naughty, weren't they?" Could you imagine my surprise when a child started shrieking at me exactly like a little chicken that has lost many feathers? Compared to me, the ugly brat looked even punier. Anyway, I couldn't help but laugh on the inside, while on the outside I remained completely calm. I wouldn't want to be labeled as a child abuser! There was this man, Julian Augustine, whom I tried to get more friendly later, but quickly dimissed him. A black woman that drove by on a bycicle(how extremely inapporpriate for a lady!) turned out to be his friend! I could never associate with such a man as long as there's a flame of honor within my heart! At that time, I was preoccupied with a handsome Inspector...Connors or Connor, I think. He got into a fight with Augustine, and humiliated him rather publicly, which I enjoyed. But then, the ugly girl started rambling something about England abolishing slavery and the South being mean and dishonorable...of course, I nearly strangled the bitch! Connors, unforunately, stood between us, and made it quite clear he was weird and was more attracted to the child than to me. That means his brain and his eyes are malfucntioning badly. Well...his loss!

Oh, dear...Prudence is calling me again. Needless to say, she was the one that dragged me away from Kirk Street earlier today. Not that it mattered much, for I was getting rathed bored. She actually dared to threaten to write my father, so I had to obey...Now she wants me for something useful, though. I need to get ready for the ball tonight! This being England, where everything is boring and stiff, I doubt it will be much fun, but at least in will provide an interesting passtime...and quite a few men better than Augustine or Connor. I have bought the perfect dress to wear-a wide violet with a considerable decolletage. Prudence probably has objections, but who cares! She cannot order me around, and it is evening, for God's sake. Father would not mind it. Now I need to rush-I will write back after the ball, if I am not too tired...

Sincerely;

Madeline
