Title: My recent slowness
Mjinga - June 15, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
In case anyone was wondering about my recent slowness... it's not you! And I didn't lose interest in the board!
Work has just been killing me, along with running around trying to get into grad school and then after I got in trying to get all the forms they suddenly needed filled in and turned in and وووووو!
I was planning to be back today and to make this my Catch-Up-On-A&A day, but, alas, it seems like it's not to be. My little brother has broken a large pipe off under the cement, causing me to have to go and turn off the water. First, though, I had to exhume the water meter and shutoff valve from under 6+ inches of dirt. The water company has so been lying to mum about reading that thing. The plumber comes in about three hours. No water until then. :(
I'm beginning to have a new appreciation for not living before the Victorian era. At least the Victorians have pumps inside.

Oh my... I hope everything works out soon, Liz!
A misfortune never comes alone, they say 'round here <_<
Condolences and sympathies with the files and such. Having the same problem with college these days.
So ya, I hope everything patches itself up and starts running smoothly!

Oh, I'm sorry, Liz! :(
I hope everything will be fine for you and the trouble with the broken pipes will be over soon! *hugs*

Awe! That sucks Liz! Well, at least you know how to do that sort of stuff. I'd be freaking out.

Take your time, baby. We're here. Sorry about all the stress, hope it's all over soon.

We have our water back at last. Hurrah! :D Well, we had it back yesterday evening. After the plumber came (three hours after Liz - who happens to be my sister - posted that initial topic) we discovered that we had to wait...
...six hours for the fixit-job (weld? putty? something?) to dry. Six very dry hours.
But now it's all over. :D

Yay :) Hopefully the site will pick back up soon.
I really need to actually post as Graham, one of these days. *sigh*
