Title: Worst Thing
Mjinga - November 16, 2006 04:46 AM (GMT)
New game. Worst whatever the previous question was you've ever seen/heard/tasted/smelt.
For example, if the question was, what's the worst movie to date that you've seen, I should answer Sherlock, a Case of Evil. It's really ghastly. I could direct a better movie. And I could act better. And I could write a better story. And... like, dude, it's awful. Definitively the worst movie I've seen to date.
What's the worst movie you've ever seen?
Nora - November 16, 2006 01:53 PM (GMT)
Probably "Junior" with your wonderful governor. It was stupid. But there are many horrible movies around, geez... I also saw some "horror-movies" that weren't scary at all, I think their names were "Jeepers Creepers" or something? Maybe they were classified as horror-movies because they were horrible?
What's the worst party you've ever been to?
Mjinga - November 16, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
My older sister's Christmas party last year. She had it exactly the same night that everybody she had invited was having theirs. As a result, I came, her Ph.D. advisor came, her next door neighbor came, one of her graduate cohort came, and this total skeezebag that was a co-worker of her husband's (then fiance) came.
The skeezebag was over fourty, nearing fifty, and would not stop hitting on me. I eventually got very blunt about not giving him my phone number and suchlike and he still wouldn't go away. He ended up being very politely (far too politely) asked to leave by my sister's husband, when my sister figured out what was up. Took her about an hour and a half to do it though. And I couldn't get away from him because practically no one else was there.
Oh, and my sister had a rousing "let's try to teach my sister to salsa" bit during that party, too. Because I was the only one who didn't dance at the party. Argarg, and she did it even though she knows I cannot stand to snuggle up to strangers enough to dance with them. I'm a very private person, me.
And guess who volunteered to be my dancing-partner? Yep, got it in one, the skeezebag.
Not as bad as some people's parties, I'm sure, but yup, that's the worst one I've been too.
What's the worst book you've ever read?
Etcetera - November 18, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
A Norwegian one, a romance novel that my aunt lent me to read on a vacation at a cabin where there was nothing else to read and it was raining. I don't remember the name, but it was so boring I only finished the first couple of chapters.
What's your worst embarrassing moment?
Dorian Clayborne - December 2, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
Oh, there are sooo many.
I was crowd surfing at a concert and when I was let down, I had my hands up in the air really buzzed off the whole experience. I looked up to my friends and they saw me walking back to them but I didn't see a big step to a number of stairs. I fell UP stairs. The impossible happens to me.
What's the worst relationship you have ever been in? Doesn't have to be romantic.
Richard Chapman - December 2, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Well, it is romantic. Me and this girl Arian had gone out for a year, and on the year anniversary, I took her to her favorite restaurant. A steakhouse called "Longhorns." It's amazing. Anyways, she orders the most expensive things on the menu, but I didn't care. It was our year anniversary, so whatever.
She broke up with me as soon as I paid for the meal, making the fourty-five minutes ride back to her house when my brother picked us up very, very uncomfortable.
What's the worst band you've ever heard?
Mjinga - December 2, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
The Screaming Boogers or somesuch weird name like that. It's a band that's local to JVHS where I teach, and it's made from students aged 15-17. They SUCK ASS. They try to be all deep with the lyrics and it's pathetic. They try to appear soulful and just look like retards in droopy clothes (except the one that's much too fond of vinyl and leather and looks like someone from Mötley Crüe with) that can't comb their hair. And they sound like a bunch of boys transitioning to men, because their voices constantly break. They play at EVERY SINGLE pep rally and assembly, and it's HORRIBLE. Arg.
What's the worst concert you ever went to and why was it so bad? (Music, expereince, the people, etc.)
Sarah Borden - December 4, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
The Easter-Messiah that Goodmanson (or gudmanson or HOWEVER you spell his name) conducted.
All we like sheep went astray when he conducted everything WAAAAAAYYY too fast.
Although the one that Georghe conducted where he paid ALL the singers and EVERYBODY in the orchestra except Liz and I...that one wasn't so hot either. It sounded better but...I really, really hate Georghe. (I'm probably mispelling his name too. Oh well, that means he can't sue me for slander at least.)
What was the worst accident you ever had?
Jean-Luc Dargeaux - December 5, 2006 01:24 AM (GMT)
The one where I got thrown out of my stroller ten feet and then run over by a car (that is to say, the car went over me and bonked me, not that I went under the tires; I was not squishled :) ). Two months old, don't really remember it. But yeah, that would be it.
And that was totally not a cool thing for Georghe to do, was it? Argargarg, in FRONT of us too! GEEZ he could have at least PRETENDED that he didn't pay anyone else.
Anywhoo, what's the worst thing that a friend has ever said to you?
Etcetera - December 8, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
in my adult years? - Well, I was kind of hurt that my best friend said he believed I was posessed by a demon, if that counts...
I have also been called a number of curses that are not worth mentioning because they will be censored.
I still think the worst thing was when one of my very close friends said she thought I was lying/pretending about something that (at least to me) was a very big deal. I hate it when people put words in my mouth or think I feel/think something I don't.
What was your worst nightmare about?
Dorian Clayborne - December 8, 2006 09:24 AM (GMT)
I have a recurring dream about zombies. It happens in all different places, but there are my friends and some people I don't know. They are all picked off one by one through the dream. I'm the last to die and then I wake up and my muscles are all tight and it feels like I haven't taken a breath in a lil while.
What about you? What's your worst nightmare?
blackadder - December 22, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Ugh, well, lately I've been experiencing a strange sort of realism in my nightmares. I'll overhear someone (usually an aquaintance or even just a completely fictional dream-generated person) bad-mouthing me behind my back, and then when I confront them about it I end up making a jerk of myself.
I also have nightmares about finding an insect on my person or in my bed, from which I jerk awake screaming. After that I generally have to go sleep somewhere else, because I feel uncomfortable in the bed in which aforementioned creepy thing was found. Icky.
What was your worst year in school? (Can be academically or socially, either one.)
Bruce Todd Abercrombie - December 24, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Definitely 1st grade. I went to a private school and not only was I a complete misfit with the other kids (there was one little girl in particular - I think her name was Janet - who made it her business to see that I never escaped misfit status) I didn't get along well with my teacher. Primarily in reading. In group reading aloud, I always read too fast for the other kids to follow me, and during recess I didn't want to do anything except read and read and read some more. For some reason my teacher thought this was a bad thing. So she would not allow me to read except for official "silent reading-time", which lasted about fifteen minutes, and of course the reading-aloud time which lasted half an hour but we were only allowed to get through maybe ten pages of a large print book with lots of illustrations.
Naturally I was frustrated.
I did come up with ways to get around the restrictions (such as smuggling books out to the playground concealed in my clothing) but I hated that year. After that I was homeschooled and allowed to read as much as I wanted.
What was the worst food you ever tasted?
Mjinga - December 24, 2006 10:06 AM (GMT)
This eggplant thing Mom made.
My sister (Bruce Todd up there) and I were bike-riding around town when we were about ten and twelve respectively, and we came upon a vegetable stand selling vegetables for cheap. Naturally being the sort of children to hate normal vegetables like spinach, peas, and green beans, we thought weird vegetables must of course taste better. And this particular stand had a purple vegetable on it as big as our heads for only thirty cents. So we bought it. I mean, come on, it was purple, how could it possibly be anything other than a tasty treat?
Big mistake. Mom said it was a lovely specimen of eggplant (which we hadn’t known what it was when we bought it) and said she’d cook it for dinner. She did. Cut it into strips and added some stuff and created this fantastic-smelling creation that everybody couldn’t wait to try.
It tasted sublimely of vomit. Even Spike wouldn’t eat it.
Also, the soup from Hell a friend’s mom made us (supposed to be tomato but it had wiggly things in it) was really bad also. But probably not as bad since Spike ate the whole tureen.
What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen?
Marie James - January 5, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
The Prince & Me.
That movie was terrible in every way. Julia Stiles is very unnattractive, and the acting is horrendous!!! :sword:
Who is your favorite actor?
Nils Jørgensen - January 5, 2007 05:25 AM (GMT)
Er, favorite actor? Dis is the worst thing thread. :) I'll let you know who the worst actor is.
The worst actor evvah, in my considered opinion, is James D'Arcy. He was this really unobservant, sex-obsessed, illogical, over-emotional, idiotic young Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock; A Case of Evil. Does this fit with Doyle's Sherlock? Not at all! And it was... gonna rant here... must not rant... it was DUMB. There. End of story.
The worst actress evvah is Thora Birch. She was really really really awful in Dungeons & Dragons. It is POSSIBLE, however UNLIKELY, that this might have been the result of crappy directing and lines such as But what I want is for the good of the people! Why can't they see that?! Wah! Ok, maybe the wah wasn't in there, but she PUT it in. And... just... ew. Disgrace to the noble tradition of roleplaying.
Who is the worst movie director in your opinion?
blackadder - January 5, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
That would have to be Aaron Seltzer, the evil un-genius behind the disaster that was Date Movie. I could probably go on for ages about just how much ill-will I have towards this man, but I would probably end up getting so upset my head would explode.
What is the worst illness/health problem/injury you have ever had?
Marie James - January 5, 2007 05:53 AM (GMT)
My current knee injury. Pentellar tendanitus :(
My knee-cap shifts and is always really sore and unsteady. It cracks when I bend my knee, and I can't run without running like a duck. I can't stand for too long, and I always feel like such a nerd trying to explain to PE teachers and other people. Gahhh..
Which was your worst birthday?
Etcetera - January 5, 2007 04:12 PM (GMT)
Oh, I had several horrible ones as a child, but in my more adult years I'd have to say my 18th. I had just started becoming "popular" (or at least accepted) in a few different circles and I wanted to bring all my old friends and my new ones together.
It was a complete disaster. And I was so insecure and realized I had been acting differently depending which group of people I was hanging with. I had a revelation that day: No one knew me. Not even I knew what I really liked and what my real personality was like.
I spent most of the evening in the kitchen, crying.
*Shudder* A lot has changed since then, though. Fortunately.
What was your worst birthday?
Alastair Broderick - January 6, 2007 09:21 AM (GMT)
My worst birthday was my sixth birthday. My brother was teasing me someting awful, and he ate my slice of cake while I was opening presents. How could he eat my cake? That's just evil!
But I've never had a really bad birthday, fortunately
What was the worst illness you ever had?
Marie James - January 6, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
Strep throat!! Ugh.. I hate the feeling that you can't even swallow without being in pain, and the pills for it are like _______________ that long! It's so terrible
What is the worst thing you have ever tasted?
Etcetera - January 20, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
I think I'd have to say Russian Kaviar. Ick, ick, ick...
What's the worst sound you ever heard?
Julian Augustine - January 27, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
That would be the sound of eerie silence.
What was the worse movie you watched recently?
Etcetera - March 2, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, recently... That would have to be a tv-movie I watched last Wednesday. I don't remember the name, but it was horrible. TV-movies often are.
What was your worst experience with medications?
Mjinga - March 2, 2007 12:39 AM (GMT)
OOh! I know that one, easy. Without a doubt it was when I was taking Minocycline in Edinburgh.
I was taking it because I often get acne when I travel (yes I stay clean and yes I use topical things and yes, I still get it anyway) and I was going to meet Kristin ( :) :) :) ) after we left Edinburgh, so naturally I didn't want to look like a spotted hag. And I took it (once on the plane and once in Edinburgh) and voila! All my spots disappeared within two days. And then on the third day I got REALLY REALLY bad hives. I puffed up like a balloon and got bumps all over. And I had trouble breathing, which freaked me out, and I was constantly cold, and it was NOT cool. I freaked out my sisters then, too. Foreign country, not really enough funds for a hospital, no idea how to get to one, no antihistamines (the one thing we forgot!) and... yeah. Not so cool.
I had to take Benadryl for a MONTH after that or the hives would come back.
What's the worst car/train/airplane ride you have ever taken?
Dorian Clayborne - March 20, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
The plane non stop from Chicago to Puerto Rico. Mashed in between my bulky father and my football playing brother. Big guys and lil old me. I didn't have an armrest because their arms swallowed them. And then they'd sleep on me. Worst 3-4 hours of my life.
What is the worst kiss you ever had?
Frances Walters - March 21, 2007 02:25 PM (GMT)
Well, I've only been kissed once, and it was pretty bad. I didn't like him, but apparently he liked me. I have his number and he is waiting for me to call.
What's the worst thing you've said to a friend?
Madeline Smith - March 21, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
I told my friend I don't believe his statement he's had a girfriend.
What's the worst thing you've ever done to yourself?
Etcetera - March 22, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
Well, since I was a suicidal maniac about... seven years ago, I don't think you really want to know that...
What's the worst thing you've ever said to your parent/s?
blackadder - April 6, 2007 04:21 AM (GMT)
When I was six or so, I told my mom I hated her. I didn't mean it, but I'm sure it still stung.
What was the worst vacation you've ever been on?
Mjinga - April 6, 2007 06:03 AM (GMT)
Difficult question. All around crappy vacation, you mean, or the one where the worst things happened?
Going with the second, I'd have to say it was the vacation to Edinburgh with my two sisters last September. That particular vacation did not become so very waggy until we crossed over to Norway to meet Kris. :) Then it was the waggiest vacation evvah.
The particularly awful things that happened, prior to meeting Kris, were:
- Jessica coming down with some kind of illness of an unknown viral nature (she was on antibiotics, and antihistamines didn't help, so it wasn't allergies either).
- My older sister (not Jess) attempting to relieve me of my boarding pass for the connecter flight to Edinburgh in the London Gatwick airport, to strand me there.
- Being forced to physically restrain her until said boarding pass was returned to me. Airports are particularly bad places for scenes, I was afraid that security would come and haul us all off.
- Discovering about six hours after that event that I have a severe allergic reation to minocyline, which I was taking at the time.
- Becoming fevered, covered in giant hives, bloating up, and having difficulty breathing for the better part of a day.
- Having continuing hives unless taking Benadryl four times daily (discovered this by trial and major error).
- Having persistent swollen ankles, crimping my ability to hike around (the main purpose of the trip).
- Being deserted by older sister a very few days into the vacation (never traveled outside America before; she has, and was therefore our knowledgeable initiator).
But, we went over to Kris on the
Princess of Scandinavia (I love boats) and at that point in time, as mentioned before, it was the best vacation ever.
I haven't had another vacation where so many untoward things happened, but then, I've never had a vacation I liked better on the whole, either. So like, I'll go with the first part as the answer to your question.
You can tell I have nothing to do tonight, can't you?
---
What's the worst computer trouble you've ever suffered?
Mikhail Sweeney - April 13, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
Not having net for about a half a month just now!
What is the worst thing you have ever been called by someone?
Etcetera - May 3, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
I've been called a lot of things, but the one that hurt the most was when someone called me possessed (as in by a demon).
What's the worst nightmare you can remember?
Akun - May 3, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
I have pretty terrible nightmares, so heres my two worst (that i can remember):
1)Anybody ever read the book Battle Royale? Its about a class of kids who are forced to kill each other until one survives. Its treated like a "game" and its goverment regulated (these kids live in a facists country). The rules of the game were "killed or be killed." That was my dream, that my senior class was forced to play this "game," and I had to kill my friends. It scared me that I was actually able to do this, even if it was a dream.
2) I had a dream about the holocaust. I was sent to a camp like Auschwitz with a group of people. We stood at the edge of a pond as we watched one of the nazis pull a baby away from the mother and kill it. Then they all pushed us into the pond that was actually....lava. (Okay, this is where it gets weird) Only the lava was actually water tinted red. So they released the sharks to attack us. (Yeah, that may sound funny, but it was friggin scary in the dream)
What is the worst injury you've ever had?
John Doyle - May 4, 2007 10:15 AM (GMT)
Broken ankle, unless you count an illness. Hmm, although I could be gross and mention that necrotic skin sloughing off in a bath of blood is pretty awful, but methinks that (even though that's what it is) girls find periods too normal to count and boys prolly never thought about it and don't really want to after reading that. :P
As a comment on Akun's nightmares, yep, I read that book. Extremely well-written (and well-translated), if very very gory. I had a nightmare revolving around the idea after I read it, too, only it was my extended family and for some reason they all targeted me first. My brother is reading it for AP English 11 now. Poor bebe, he says it's the most depressing book he ever read.
What's the worst book you've ever read?
Dorian Clayborne - May 4, 2007 04:41 PM (GMT)
Her By Ferlinghetti. I absolutely abhor impressionistic/surrealistic/sensationalistic writing. It's like you did a whole bag of weed and you are trying to figure out what life is like through everything but sight. Especially when the first sentence refers to a big white phallus.
Why did I read it, you ask?
My boyfriend and I are english majors. Well soon to be english graduates. He's more modernistic and I am classical in our tastes. He gave me that book to read. I think he did it just to irritate me beyond the scope of imagination.
What's the worst thing you've ever done to someone of the opposite sex/your significant other?
Akun - May 5, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Do we have to tell the truth?
*sighs*
I hit him in the face. Really hard. He was bleeding afterwards from the mouth.
Trust me, it was well provoked.
-Battle Royale is kindof depressing, but at has a sort-of happy ending. In my dreams, though, I was always the killer O_O.
-Do you mean Lawrence Ferlinghetti? I just had to write a small biography on him. I never read Her, but I really love his poetry. I do admit I enjoy contemporary works more than I do classics.
What is the worst class/course you have ever taken?
Gwyneth Pritchard - May 14, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
Biochemistry 110A and 110B. They were an absolute nightmare. I had other miserable classes too (cultural anthropology and political science come to mind) but they weren't really all that hard, just boring.
What did the worst looking person you ever saw look like?
Dorian Clayborne - June 18, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
Mullet, ripped jean shorts, no bra and extra heavy boobies that oh so needed some support. AND she was cold, so you know, they were pointing to the ground. She had one kid on her hip and another one with a rat tail screaming about how his ice cream was melted on his kool-aid stained shirt.
They were going into Wal-Mart and I was absolutely ecstatic to be leaving.
What's the worst hairstyle you've ever had?
