Title: College Plans?
Description: school, work, travel, or prostitution?

melie - March 11, 2007 02:57 AM (GMT)
Many of us will be graduating very soon. It is, what my ghey teachers say 'OUR TIME TO SHINE!!!'

I plan to go to Madison Area Technical College, 45 minutes from home. I have to drive that every day. I'm going for a two year associate's degree in Computer Systems Administration.

So what are you guys gunna do?

PixieDust - March 11, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
Do they have colleges in England?

I'm probably going to the MC. I'll have to drive 20 minutes... oh the horror! D:

melie - March 11, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
The MC?

Marathon

the.lamp - March 11, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
I am conditionally accepted to the U of S

Cheamo - March 11, 2007 05:16 AM (GMT)
I'm probably just going to work or something next year.

Hey_dude - March 11, 2007 08:25 AM (GMT)
I intend to fuck my life over by abusing my strong intelligence by going into dangerous, hazardous, and physically demand work that pays around $65/hour.

no, not post secondary because I hate school enough as is and if college/university is worse then I'll have nothing to do with it.

PixieDust - March 11, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
oooo what kind of work is that?

Dewaldo - March 11, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)

Man-whore.

Just kidding, you don't have the looks.

I'm going into university so I can give my money away to profs that don't care if I learn anything or not. Isn't our education system wonderful?

Syaoransbear - March 11, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
I'm gonna work for a year. I hate it when adults ask me what I'm going to do and then I go 'I'm taking a year off' and they look at me like I'm throwing my life away or something.

PixieDust - March 11, 2007 08:17 PM (GMT)
That's good for you though... it'll mean you'll learn more from life, instead of from a classroom. I wish I could do that.

melie - March 11, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Nope, you have to go to college right away and study Music Education.

Juno - March 11, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
The plan is to escape for a year and do bugger all. Well I'll bug parents for money, get a job then save up enough to rescue Tyrano from the asians in Australia then ironically go to Japan for a while but it could only be for like two months or something because of visa stuff and then off somewhere else. I was thinking of bumming it around North America but I don't know yet. Though throughtout the year I'll keep learning C#, which I am doing at the moment in my course and then apply for a uni or even for a job. Although I doubt I'd get a job since places will be looking for grads. The great thing about learn C# is all 360 games are made using it so I could go looking for a job somewhere to make them.

I bet it turns out everyone there is gay. I mean, how many women will work somewhere like there? >_>

Danielle - March 12, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
Ah, the oil rigs. I don't know any females that work there.

I can't. My school won't let me. That's why I'm hoping to go somewhere else.

Citin - March 12, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
I'm going to the good old University of Saskatchewan like Lampy.

Plan right now is to take a biology degree and try to get into medicine

WhitneyLynn - March 12, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
I would loove to go into medicine. Being a doctor would be the best job ever. Also the hardest thing to get through in school.

I'm taking arts and science next year and hopefully going into nutrition/pharmacy. But we will see how well te chemistry goes. I kind of want to be a nurse too.

Zangk - March 12, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
College plans indeed. I will be working probably for a few years before I can go to any school. Most of the money has to come out of my pocket unless my dads business really picks up. Parents just can't invest lots of money to their childrens education when there is 5 of them.

For me I want to continue with art for a bit, join a class or something. Then I want to go to ConceptArt.Org Atlier school in Sanfransisco. It is a two year program that is 10-12 hours a day, monday to friday. THe first year focuses on traditional art and its concepts. The second year is to bring out the pictures within your mind, aka: concept artist. It has many proffessionals that helped with various games. I am hoping that if I can go to this I can start getting some good visuals for my comic idea.

After this I wish to go to a university that is located ohio. It is a bit expensive but it has really good theology courses and philosophy as well. I wish to take those, probably some biology, music, art.

Hey_dude - March 12, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
yeah, I may end up going to university, but at the soonest after a couple years. My dad mentions some financial plan thing they have for people who wait two years after high school to get in.

But that's if I really don't like the work on the rigs.

Danielle - March 12, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
I plan on attending high school for another year, to get my grade 12, then going back to high school again to upgrade maths. After that I have no idea.

Dewaldo - March 13, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
Did the thread title always include prostitution or did someone just add it?

Danielle - March 13, 2007 03:36 AM (GMT)
It's been there for a while

Accounting?

Danielle - March 13, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Accounting or biology.

melie - March 13, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
:( Everyone else's plans make me feel like a dumbass. I'm going to TECH school. Everyone who applies gets in, even if you're wait listed.

PixieDust - March 13, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
but some people don't even go to school melie. At least you're making an effort to get a degree!

How do my plans make you feel like a dumbass?

I intend to go into manual labour after highschool. THe only universtiy my parents have/had is my mom in fr two months then failing her first test. so she went to a tech school for some time.

Danielle - March 13, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Yeah, and I plan to go back to high school to upgrade terrible marks at least you're going to a secondary school.

I'll probably be doing this too. I'm terrible at math

Juno - March 14, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
My teacher told me today I was on his list of may not be accepted into second year. I was like lawl kk and he was like get yourself together Juno-san. :yiff:

Cheamo - March 14, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
And then you sexed him up and he was like kk juno-san? Oh wait, not postwhoring.

I don't know, I actually think it's a pretty good idea to work on the oil rigs for a while if you can deal with it, and I definitely think you can. That way you can actually like afford to go to school if you do decide to.

Bob Dole - March 14, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
I am conditionally accepted into the College of Engineering at the U of S.

Hey_dude - March 14, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
Conditionally?

And what conditions are those?

Bob Dole - March 14, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
That I pass all my classes with the right averages.

Zangk - March 15, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Hey_dude, are you planning to do the rigs? I heard you were. Have you done any research if you are? That place is not easy money, the job you can only get right now is a roughneck. If you decide to do that, then you need WHIMIS and your first aid. Secondly, you yourself say that you have below average muscle mass. Can you handle the labour work? The last one is the people that are there. They are not going to be neccissarily nice. They are generally considered the lowest of the low, crude talking (more than any of you know of) and all around rough. I would suggest that if you want to do the rigs, build up some muscle first in those arms of yours first. Start popping the steroids in now.

Syaoransbear - March 15, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
my brother(who is the nicest fucking person in the world) works on the rigs, he says they aren't anywhere near as bad as what people say they are. People aren't dying and getting hurt every day like everyone says. He says that kids smaller than me are working on the rigs and doing fine. They had a kid named Colin working there for a while that was really, really tiny. They made him into a good hand before Colin went off to another rig.

Danielle - March 16, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
I know some super nice people who work on the rigs, stereotyping much

LordBakka - March 17, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
So this is probably a little late now but I am going to the UofS, I got accepted into the college of Arts and Science with 0 scholarships because I am not your 85% honor roll student...because school sucks and I hate it..
