melie - January 5, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
What are you guys all taking this semester? I'm not sure if the canadians have started or not yet, but I still have like 2 weeks of break.

Anyhow, I think I'm probably going to die this semester:

lol, History of rock music is a class?

Sure is, and they spend like a week talking about AC/DC, and another on elvis, according to a student who already took it. You're given a list of songs to listen to, and on the midterm and tests you listen to clips of songs, and have to identify them, and on paper determine what band sung what songs, match the title to the lyrics, etc.

Narcoleptic Insomniac - January 5, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
And that right there is why classes are so expensive. Because you have to pay people to teach that bullshit.

melie - January 6, 2008 12:33 AM (GMT)
My classes are like....150 dollars. Cheap.

ECUnlimited - January 6, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
I'm not taking anything.

Banello - January 7, 2008 09:58 AM (GMT)
I'm out of school. History of Rock Music would be an interesting (and easy) course to take.

Cheamo - January 7, 2008 02:53 PM (GMT)
The actual timing of my stuff is pretty good this term, but I'm also taking 3 physics courses, and I have a feeling that in a week or two that will probably make me want to kill myself.

My classes are like this:

M,W,F:
  • 12:30-1:20 Math 124
  • 1:30-2:20 Physics 128
  • 2:30-3:20 General Engineering 125 (physics)
  • Wednesday, 7:00-9:30 PM, Political Science 112
  • Wenesday, 8:30-11:30 (every two weeks), Physics 128 Lab
T,Th
  • 1:00-2:20 Physics 155
  • 2:30-5:20 GE 121
  • Tuesday, 8:30-11:30, GE 125 Lab
  • Thursday, 8:30-11:30 (every two weeks), Physics 155 lab

melie - January 8, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
I'd probably die before even stepping in the class of that many physics courses. Science + melie = disaster.

I love my major, the only 'science' I do is dissecting faulty computers.

I'm switching majors, so I don't know what classes I'm taking yet. I'm going to be an english major instead of a music major.

Why?

An english major is easier. I was in the hospital a lot last semester, and I had a hard time catching up on all the work.

Yeah, I imagine it would be hard catching up in ANY major, let alone Music. Glhf with English though.

Me?

I hate English classes.

PixieDust - January 15, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Okay, I FINALLY got my schedule:

Monday/Wednedsday

8:30-9:45 English
12-12:50 Concert Choir
3-4:15 Political Science

Tues/thurs

10-11:15 Intro to College Algebra
12-12:50 vocal Jazz

Friday

12-12:50
Concert choir

I know there should be more english classes since I'm an english major, but I need Political Science and Algebra to be an education major, and English 102 is my Pre-req to all the other english classes.

melie - January 16, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
I love it how that even you're an english major, half of the classes are music.

PixieDust - January 16, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
Out of five classes you can't possibly have half of anything. Get your math right. And I LIKE music. I'm not giving it up completely.

Hey_Ban - January 17, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
Am I just stupid when I count six?(Concert choir being one class but appearing twice in the schedule per week)

melie - January 17, 2008 01:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's what I meant by 'half of them are music'.

PixieDust - January 17, 2008 09:22 PM (GMT)
Well if you're going to count it, you might as well count it THREE times. Because it's monday, wednesday AND friday. Then I'd have ELEVEN classes, and five of them would be choir, and that's NOT half.

melie - January 18, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
? You only put up six class periods.

PixieDust - January 18, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
I put them up as Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/thursday. As in I have the class on Monday AND wednesday, Tuesday AND Thursday.

Jenko - January 24, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
Uhh, i'm still really young so i'm still in the four-class era.

I gots me English 1B, Band 1B, Geometry, and Italian 1B.

Easy classes. :pac:

melie - January 24, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
Jeeze, Italian, I wish my school was that cool. We just have random languages like Arabic and Polish for Travel.

PixieDust - January 24, 2008 03:46 PM (GMT)
I used to want to learn italian. Then my music teacher made me look up all the pronunciations for it for a song. It was a long song, and it was quite a chore. Makes me glad that German was so simple.
