Phoenix has contacted Toronto regarding Matt Stajan. The Leafs and Phoenix are believed to have been talking for weeks about the possibility of acquiring one of Nagy or Doan. Phoenix at this point is waiting to see if they can get closer to a playoff spot before making any further deals.

But this one has some merit to it. It will take more than Stajan to get either one of those players, but there have been rumours circulating for some time about a possible deal like this between these 2 teams.

Yeah, would take more than Stajan to pry those guys away... but aren't they both UFA's at the end of the season? If that's the case, they shouldn't cost a ton more. The source on this isn't super, but as LS says, rumours have been floating around for a long time surrounding these players, Nagy in particular.

Would love for Doan to be here. It looks like he is rounding into form again. As much as I dig Matt a package with him and another forward or D-man instread of a draft pick would be preferred.
